We live in an apt and have a dining "nook" right off the kitchen. We wouldn't be able to fit a table in the kitchen. I don't mind at all.

we have an island w/ two stools that we eat at pretty much every might. but when we have company or an really delicious dinner we eat at the dining room table.

We could fit a 4 seater table....but we use the dining room table.......its just eaiser

We have a kitchen/dining area which I sorta use for company and holidays. Since it's just the two of us, we eat at our island every night. I really like it. I thought I woulndt like the height and that is why we didnt get a pub table but, I actually do. Our future kid will eat there too.

My kitchen does not have a table; since we have a fairly large island that DH and I sit at for meals.

I have a dining room table and that is used mostly on Holidays. LOL

Here's a pic. You can see where we eat on the island and down the hall I have a formal diningroom. We purposely oversized our granite on our island and got extra foldable stools if we have my parents over for something casual. I love that it's such a gathering place for company etc.

i have a kitchen table but it is very small. it fits 4 people/4 dishes.

i can't put food out on the table and set it - there isn't enough room for both and that can be annoying (making a plate at the stove) but it is just DH and I and a lot of times we eat dinner upstairs on the couch and watch TV we use the table mostly for breakfast on the weekends..

i would love a large counter height island that could seat 4 or more and still have room for the food - to me that would be ideal. depending on what type of counter you get you don't really have to worry about it getting ruined (another problem with my kitchen table, if we use it i am always taking out the tablecloth) and it's a great place for kids to hang out/do homework/eat a snack and for guests to hang out while you are preparing stuff in the kitchen...

We have a kitchen table but never eat there. We kind of just got one because the space its in really needed something, but I'd really like to get some kind of bakers rack/pantry/extra cabinet space to put there but haven't been able to find anything. We have a bar height counter in the kitchen that we eat most meals at, or in the dining room.

We have a counter with 3 stools where we eat breakfast and lunch mainly. We eat dinner in the dining room which is right next to the kitchen.

No room for a table or island in our kitchen. Our tiny (seats 2, with barely room for plates and dishes of food) is in the DR, which is just around the corner from the kitchen. We mostly eat on the couch though

But with our tax refund we are going to get proper dining room table and get rid of the one we have now.

That's a beautiful set up! In our old apt, we didn't have a table in our kitchen. We had a dining room table in another section and would eat there (or in the living room). It worked, but I like having a table in our kitchen now.

My mom's kitchen we mostly eat at the island set up and I like it a lot.

I put a buffet table in my kitchen instead of a kitchen table. it gave me a ton more counter space and also storage that was much needed!!

instead, we eat in the dining room. it's actually nice... and seems more elegant and fun. i personally love it.

we would really only have room in the kitchen for an island; but we don't have one. Just use the dining room when we sit down to eat.

We have both bar and table, with small kids it is tough not to have a table. We did get stools with arms so the kids do sit there occasional and they are really heavy so the kids cant even move them.
