Do you host? How many people? Do you make a table scape?

I've hosted the past 2 years. And it's been about 14 people both times. No, I don't do a tablescape. I don't have enough space with all the dishes on the table.

I am hosting this year, probably will have 14 people. Whenever I entertain I always try to do tablescape...generally I have 3 centerpieces- 2 smaller ones on the ends, a large one in the middle, and votives in between. I am also going to make some sort of thanksgiving-themed sugar cookies at each place setting.

I usually host, anywhere from 14-20 people. I am inspired this year to try a table scape similar to this one.... as long as I can find places for the food ! lol...

Our house is way too small to host holidays. We always go to my MIL's house.

This is DH's & my 1st Thanksgiving in our new home. DH might have to work...not sure yet. If not than I am going to ask him if we can do dinner....it will prob just be us, my ILs & I will invite my step bro. If DH is working than I dont know....I will prob tag along w/whatever in IL's do.

I have hosted in the past and have had anywhere from 8 to 23, all sit down.

I don't have pics but I use my crystal serving pieces, decorative linens and Thanksgiving decorations.

My mom hosts. Normally 15 or so people. And yes she goes all out. Next year we will be 60 people. She is already planning her decor.

I usually have 22-25 people for sitdown on Thanksgiving. I use crystal, china, placecards, cloth napkins & napkin rings.
Even though we usually use a total of 4 huge tables to fit everyone, there is never enough room in the middle of the table for anything too big

I don't have pics on this computer of my table but I've done little things similar this to make it pretty without taking up precious square footage for serving dishes.



My family protests if anything stands too tall on the table because they are all trying to talk to each other LOL

this has become a favorite in my family & it makes a nice CP until people start eating it.
This pic was from an informal fall party we had, I make it a little bigger & serve it on a huge china platter for Thanksgiving. the entire thing is edible.

This year it's just the 4 of us, my mom and ILs. Our centerpieces are whatever projects the kids have made in school, and they make place cards. Nothing fancy but they get so excited to show everyone.

ETA: That bread cornucopia is so cute! Might have to try that this year.

Believe it or not I learned how to make it years ago in a cooking class at the library of all places!

People always ask me how to do it & this is the best online instruction I have found. I have an old wrinkled paper from the library class LOL so its easier for me to share a link with a few of my tips. I sometimes do the braids but the pic I posted just had the pieces wrapped because its so much quicker. The process takes a long time but its always worth it. My 82 year old MIL is VERY hard to impress & she just about fainted the first time she saw me make it
You can fill it with anything. I make the form sort of hollow at the widest part so I can use a half head of iceberg lettuce stuffed inside( I gently pull some of the foil frame out to fit it), then add different length wooden skewers to hold some of the veggies in, then you can build around that.

I host. I LIVE for Thanksgiving. I have a big immediate family . So does DH. We never have less than 25 people.

Up until last year, I always had a table scape, but last year was more difficult as I was in the middle of a frozen embryo cycle and my DD was 10 months old. I ended up doing buffet style and was actually SO much more relaxed and was really able to enjoy my family.

I also did all the prep and cooking the two days prior so all that had to be done the day of was cook the Turkey.

i'm hosting this year. it's looking like 11-13 people. i usually have some kind of centerpiece on the table anyway, so that will stick around until we have to move everything for plates & food. i will use a tablecloth tho and i'm breaking out the wedding china.

I usually do Xmas, but last year I did Thanksgiving. About 20 ppl. No table scape. I would LOVE to, but family is so not fancy!
