I don't think I like my new Tempurpedic...UPDATE
So we got the Tempurpedic delivered on Sunday. It's WAY firmer than I thought and I don't like it. Haven't spent a whole night in bed because I just want my pillowtop back.
I think we are going to have to return/exchange...and we are definitely going to lose money  But I cannot see myself spending the next ten years on this bed. I like to cuddle up in my bed....

Thanks everyone. I know that everyone seems to really love or hate this mattress and unfortunately I was the latter.
So we returned the Tempurpedic today. I hated it in the end and knew there was no way I would ever change. We had the CLOUD.
I have TWO of the pillows if anyone wants to buy them off me  . I have never used them...I think DH may have used his once.
Tomorrow we will be getting the SLEEP TO LIVE by Kingsdown. It would up costing us 400 bucks to make the exchange and pay the difference of the STL, but hopefully that will be it for the next 10 years.

I can say it does get softer, but def not as soft as a pillow top...I love soft beds DH doesn't, when we move we're getting a select number bed or a pillow top, I'm not a fan of the tempurpedic
ETA: It does get stiffer when it's cold and gets softer as your body temperature warms it up

i think its worth it to lose a littel $ (i think restocking fee only) if you will sleep on this mattress for many years..
sorry you dont like it
i almost ordered one too but went with pillowtop instead.
i think its a love/hate thing with temperpedic

I don't know which one you bought - we got the Classic, mainly because DH wanted it. I wanted the Cloud Supreme (softest), or even the Cloud - they are much softer. But it will soften a bit as you use it. Someone told me to give it a couple weeks before deciding because you have to get used to it.

oh i love a firm bed! i'm surprised you don't like it but then again coming from a pillowtop i can see why it would be a tough adjustment. maybe it'll grow on you and it is an acquired sleep??

Yeah they are super stiff at first. It will soften up a little. It wont be as soft as a pillow top though unless you go the Cloud.

i just saw a commercial for this new tempurpedic "the cloud" today and thought of this thread --- maybe you could exchange for that one??

I had the same issue. I was 8 months pg when we got it. It felt like laying in heavily packed sand...I hated it!
We did keep it and 6 years later, I no longer hate it, but def don't love it.
Exchange it if you can.

ummm...lets just say...5 yrs later, i am up right now...it is 4am, i hate that thing, i can't sleep...i'm on the couch now after 2 hours of tossing and turning....i think i sleep better...sad but true...looking to dump this thing asap....if i do sleep in the bed i wake up achy...every single day...i hate it

I feel your pain (literally)
we bought the Tempurpedic Cloud and at first I HATED it!
The salesman forgot to tell us that if youre a stomach sleeper it's not for you  
The first few weeks I woke up with the most horrible backaches because of it. DH slept like a dream, but I HATED it
Overtime it's definitely grown on my. I have noticed that I do sleep great on my back, so Im trying to get used to being a backsleeper. I guess my body also got used to the mattress when I sleep on my stomach, because I dont get the same back pain anymore
