We rinse but we don't dirty enough dishes to run it everyday, and I fear bugs if I leave actual food on the dishes.
Also, our dishwasher is from circa 1986, so I don't think it would handle very dirty dishes as well as a newer one could.

I don't rinse.
The only time I rinse is if something is left in the sink for a while that gets stuck bad on a plate or fork. That won't come out.
If I load the dishwasher directly after dinner, no rinse needed.

Most of the time,. I do not rinse.If the dish is particularly dirty, I will quickly rinse it off.
