Price to move pipe in soffit

We just peaked in our kitchen soffit and discovered the waste pipe (or something from our bathroom) in it. Does anyone know what that would cost to move?

TIA

Re: Price to move pipe in soffit

I'm guessing they want to remove the soffit.

It all depends on where the pipe can go. If there is room in the wall, and it can just be cut, and reconnected in the wall, it should be easy. If they have to re-run the pipe from the basement, it could be very expensive.

Re: Price to move pipe in soffit

we thought about doing this when we remodeled our kitchen...heck we forget to check to see that a pipe was even there and ordered the cabinets assuming nothing was there. ( It was very expensive to move...so we kept it.)Yeah...that was a very expensive mistake for us as we had to reorder new cabinets for that one side.

anyway, we just kept a smaller soffit on the one side with 30 inch length cabinet and removed the soffit on the other and did 36 inch length cabinets. It looks great...do a search and you will see what i mean...

i just redid my kitchen. i had pipes behind the bulk head that could not be moved. my kitchen designer made a crown moulding look that hid all the pipes but made it look amazing!

Andrewz00:

Your comment was completely ridiculous. Maybe your mind couldn't comprehend what she was trying to do. But I am sure others here understand the reasoning.

It sounds like she wants the pipe moved so she can remove the soffit to be able to install taller kitchen cabinets.

With that said... it's possible the pipes can be moved at a cost. But they usually have to use soffits due to the fact that it may be difficult to run a horizonal pipe through a bunch of cross beams.

maybe you should get to know who i am and read a few of my older posts first before you go calling people out....

this is not a life or death situation here.. no one got mugged or lost their dad over this crap, so lighten up a bit...
