A question FB related and really annoyed...

I am really annoyed. I am a very private person especially when it comes to facebook. I had a party for my DH this weekend , everyone there were close friends and family know how private I am when it comes to pictures on the internet let alone facebook. I also had to cut my list and could not invite more then 30 people. A so called good friend of mine put up pics from my DH party on facebook. I asked her if I can see them first and she said not 1 hr later- too bad they are up already, and I am not taking them down , I am just not going to tag them. I am beyond annoyed. Do I ignore her till she gets the message, never talk to her again, or the next time she takes pictures refuse to be in them and tell her why, or do I just drop it. I am even thinking of taking a facebook break or deleting or deactivating my account. Help.

If FB is going to cause that much trouble for you, then I'd delete your account - but that's not going to prevent her from posting her own pics on FB of your DH's party. The only solution to that is to not be friends with someone so inconsiderate.

I hateeeeeeeee that. I feel if u ask nicely they should respect you. I would tell her again nicely u want them taken down that it was at your house and u could not invite everyone and u did not want to hurt feelings.
You can hid them pictures from certain people if that part bothers you or untag yourself I believe.

I wouldn't delete my account if I did get some value of connecting with my other friends. If someone put up photos when you specifically asked them not to, I would probably cross them off my future guest lists.

I think respecting someone's privacy is paramount to sharing photos of an event - especially an event that people were excluding from.

I have uploaded photos of other people but they were locked down for the specific people to see & I ask people if they want anything deleted.

ITA!!! How ridiculously immature of her to respond to you that way. I mean even if she doesnt get why you feel the way you do, friends are supposed to respect each other.

if your really that private of a person, you should request that no one take pictures at your events because clearly they have no consideration and can't keep your life private.

I would be so mad if I were you. she is not respecting your request. as a friend she should be understanding.

I can't tell you to stop speaking with her because I don't know how well you know her or value her friendship.

I would not take a break from FB, but after a reasonable request like that I would seriously reconsider my friendship with someone who reacted that way.Chat Icon

DH made a joke that he would like to put up a sign next time about no pics on facebook- he is not too happy either- my nieces ( all under the age of 4) are in her pics etc. I did not invite one of my BIL and there family b/c of a big issue w/ them etc. My SIL is the devil- all she needs is to see this and it is going to be bad.

Ugh I feel your pain. I went through a similar situation with a cousin who refused to take something personal down. I ended up deleting fb for a number of reasons, but that was definitely the straw that broke the camels back.

I tried deleting, hiding, and blocking people, but that just caused more problems and drama so i removed myself from fb.

Chat Icon I feel for you ... I deleted my fb account a LONG time ago for privacy reasons.....

I think it's time to reevaluate what kind of friend this person really is.

Re: A question FB related and really annoyed...

If she refuses to take them down, I'm pretty sire you can report her to fb and they will remove them. Before you post any pics there is that warming about getting permission from the people in that pic.
She doesn't sound like a friend to me. Who would do that. I would defriend her on fb and in life. I sound harsh but friends should make us happy not put us thru bs. I am the same way as you and have been in a similar situation, but she took the pics down when I told her what a big deal it was to me.

I don't think FB can do anything about it because she owns the rights to the photos since she took them. the only way they get involved is if someone steals YOUR pictures. if she took them, she can use them freely. not that its right but that's what FB says about it. Even if its children!Chat Icon

I would call her again. Explain to her why you don't want your pics on FB, make sure she knows you are serious. If she still can't respect you then delete her, not your whole account. That's so rude.
