What's in your "Den"

OK so for the last two years the room in my house considered the "Den" has been empty" literally it's just an empty room.

I'm finally starting to decorate it. It's right off the kitchen; and you can see if from the living room. Was thinking about putting a desk in there and keeping our Laptop on the desk & printer. I was also thinking about putting a chaise type of chair so that you can sit back there if someone is looking at the computer.

Now we just bring the lap top in the living room and rest it on the coffee table; so i'm not really into the idea of making the den an office.

Just trying to get an idea of what people have done with the spare bedrooms in their houses. We don't have kids yet; so i think down the line it would make a good play room...just not yet.

i have a desk. i keep the laptop and printer in there and down the road we'll probably get a regular computer, i pray for a mac

my den/office is off the kitchen so to keep the kitchen clutter free i keep the calendar, the mail, the bills, the keys and the things that need charging (phones, ipods, camera) in that room. i also have a corkboard (for invitations, info i need handy, pictures, etc.)

i have a small futon type of couch. it's good if we are both in the room. it also opens up if we ever needed an extra place for someone to crash.

then i have a wall with pictures, right now it's all photos of our wedding but eventually i'd like it to be a family gallery.

i spend a lot of time in the room and it's kind of like my room which i like.

in the future i will have to make it more kid friendly - i figure when i am cooking in the kitchen i can let the baby play in there (i can see in from the kitchen). but that will be down the road.

i have some pics in my album. i have a huge corkboard above my printer now, that's really the only change i made.

Since my Den is also off my kitchen; i think it's a great idea to get some paper organizers etc so that i can keep my kitchen clutter free.

I'm so ready to go look for decorative things for the room! Looking for a good inexpensive desk now.

And exactly like you said; when i have kids; i'll make it more kid friendly and have a space for the baby to play while i cook.
