need honest opinions!!!

i need to udpate my dining room. i do not $ in the budget to replace the furniture, whihc is a hand me down from my grandma. what do you like/hate. what would you do? pictures are in my album...

i think you could def use the pieces you already have and just update them. maybe try bringing a leg of a chair or a door of the cabinet or multiple pics to a local hardware store and see if there's any way to refinish the table/china cabinet/chairs/mirror. a coat of paint or stain could go a long way! then i'd reupholster the chairs. you will end up with a whole new look for a fraction of the cost!

I think that set is very pretty! I love the legs on the table. IMO, I think you need a bigger rug. I would go with a red background. Maybe even cover the chairs with a loose slipcover would look nice. Maybe a pretty mirror on that wall where you now have that picture and flank it with two candle or vase sconces will pull it all together. HTH!

I would get a bigger rug. Get a bigger art print and change the seat cover.

I'd reupolster the chairs, change the hardware on the china cabinet and paint it ...........

I would get a different rug and I'd get some pieces to put on top of the set.. a nice runner, centerpiece, etc. put the two other chairs back at the table rather than on either side of the china cabinet, reupholster the chairs, lower the chandelier, lower the painting, what is the rest of your home like? style sense?

I would get a bigger rug.

I'm not a fan of the two chairs on the sides of the china closet. I would put them at the heads of the table.

I'm not a fan of the piece inbetween the two windows. Its too big and is taking away from the curtains.

Clear the top of the china closet.

Get rid of the tree, put another set of sconces there to off set the ones on the other side.

I think it's a lovely set tho.

I just realized that you set the table directly under the chandelier....DUH!
Then I would take the 2 arm chairs and put them in the corner on each end of the china closet bc if you put them at the heads it will totally block the china closet.

Is that a wine cabinet between the windows? I would move it to the dining room to the wall where that print is.

i agree with a bigger rug...

i would also update the cushions on the chairs...

i would bring the head chairs to the table..

i would see if i could remove that lattice design from the china closet glass on the sides so you can see in better. and i would update the hardware if it needs it - hard to tell from the picture.

love your window treatments!
