AFP screening tonight-UPDATE
Have my 16 1/2 week checkup/screening at my doctors office tonight at 6:15.
I'm hoping he does a sono! I am dying to see LO. Plus if he does a sono maybe we can find out if its a boy or girl!
I don't know why, but I'm nervous! I never get nervous before doctor appointments.
I've had such a rough week-last Thursday we had to put the 1st love of my life, my dog Lola to sleep  I've been so sad, I feel like seeing our LO is the only thing that will make me feel better.
Wish me luck!
Update: No sono  but we did get to hear our LO's heartbeat pitter pattering away at 155 BPM  They took blood, weight, blood pressure, spoke to the doctor and was done. It was really fast! I'll get my AFP results next week. The doctor said everything is looking great so far.
So now we have to wait till the 23rd to find out  or  ..I asked DH of he wanted to go to one of those 3-d sono places to find out this weekend but he said no-and that he doesn't want any unnecessary sonograms being done...no fun!!!
Thank you girls for your kind words over the loss of my doggie. She was my little baby dog for almost 13 years, it all happened so fast and I am still so sad  But knowing we've got a healthy LO in there is a wonderful feeling and we feel very very blessed.

I only had a sono done at 12 weeks.. then I went to Sunrise lab for a quick blood test for the AFP part. However, I think some girls also had another sono done. Hopefully you do! Good luck and don't be nervous 
and I am really so sorry about your doggy  It is the hardest thing

I hope you get a sono today. I had one at my 12 week, 16 week and I will have another one at my 21 week appointment next week! It is the best thing seeing your LO!! I hope you get to!!  Good luck!!

ah! so sorry that you didn't get to see a sono! at least you heard the heart beat. glad everything is going well with your LO ...maybe you can surprise your DH and take him to a 3d sono  . I know that he'd probably not like that since he already said no  but I know how anxious you feel so I had to suggest it!

Our LO's HB has been around 155 at pretty much every appointment since the first (when it was 180) and the second (when it was 130, oddly). The last 3 appointments, she's been 155. Just sayin'...

HA!!!! I was thinking the same thing about the heartbeat! The old wives tale is that if the heartbeat is over 140 its a . Mine always was and we are having a .......I guess only time will tell!

The 3 times we've heard the heartbeat the rate has been 150 or higher....hmmmnnnn.....

Jen. . sorry about your dog, I know how hard that can be! 13 years is a LONG time and you probably never had a fight.
Frustrating about the sono but seems like everything is going well still!
