Waving bye, clapping hands, pointing...
When did your DC start doing this? DS just turned 10 mos and really has not ANY of these things. I must admit I never really was adamant about showing/teaching him this, but looking on the developmental charts its getting me more and more worried.

Chloe was all over the place.. I think a lot of kids are all sooo different. she clapped around 6 months, pointed much later around 12 or 13 months. waving bye around the same time I think - 12 months.

MIL, DH and I constantly showed her these things early so she learned pretty early.
clapping hands - just before 7 months
waving bye bye - I can't remember I think around 9 months
Pointing - around 11 months she learned to actually point her little finger... before that she would just hold her hand out with her thumb and middle finger pressed together to point.

DS is 10mo and just started clapping last week. He's been waving for a while, but moreso lately. Im not sure if i've seen him point yet..

DS is 10 months and has been clapping hands I would say for about a month and a half. He doesn't point or wave bye bye, although I've never shown him either.

DD started clapping and waving 9 months. She just started pointing within the last week or so and she'll be 11 months on Sept. 7th. No worries, and a lot of kids are all over the place. DD still doesn't hold a spoon to feed herself and she hasn't taken any steps on her own. She cruises around the furniture and in her crib, but needs to hold on to stuff in order to stand. I could drive myself crazy looking at milestone charts, too!

DD2 has been consistently late with all of her developmental stuff. She waved around 9 months but didn't do the other things until 12-13 months. The ped wasn't worried and neither was I... this kid just does stuff on her own timetable.

My MIL was crazy and taught Satnino to do "ciao" (Italian wave) very early like6- 7 months. HE would do it on que though,notwhen someone was actually coming or going.
He started waving to people hello and goodbye around 9-10 months..we never taught himthis he jsut started it on his own and now waves to everything (stuffed animals,us, animals on wall).
He started clapping around 7-8 months and does this on que or when we say horray! But...we showed him this all the time or he would hav never started to do it.
He does not point yet.
Don't worry and try not to go crazy with milestones..just start showing him and I'm sure in time he will be doing all of these things and more!

DS#2 just turned 10 months and started clapping this past weekend and waving bye-bye since about 9 months. No pointing yet.

DS started to wave in in June, he was just about 8 months old. Then a week later in started to clap. He has been pointing his finger since 6 months.

Clapping around 6.5 months, waving about 7.5 months and she doesn't point yet. She will be 9 months on the 19.

DD started clapping around 8.5 months and waving hi and bye at 10 months. I did focus on teaching her some of this and after a few days of constantly doing it she got it. So maybe focus on it for a few days?
I just noticed that she has really started pointing in the last month so I guess 13 months? I didnt really teach her pointing. she just started doing it.

DD will be 10 months next week. She just clapped for the first time last week. Doesn't point. Will wave bye if you wave first. She's open handed when she does it but it's a start.
DD #1 didn't clap until after a year. I think she started to "point" around 10-11 months and again it started out open handed not an actual finger pointing. I can't remember waving.

clapping was 9 months. he doesn't really point yet and he's not really doing what I'd call waving, but we don't wave to him so that could be why.
I am not even sure "when" they are supposed to be doing this stuff.

I wouldn't really worry. DS started clapping maybe around 6-7 months. Waving, he's done it once 2 weeks ago(he's 10 months), I know it was intentional and he waved goodbye to several people but nothing since then. Pointing, we're not even close.

She's been waving bye & doing hi five since 6 months. She just started pointing recently and she refuses to clap her hands. I've been trying for months and she laughs at me. We are working on blowing kisses now..

DS started waving at about 8 months.. at almost 11 months no waving although I tried 1 time. I really haven't spent much time teaching him this stuff, I'm usually busy trying to keep him from crawling into the oven.

DS is 9 months, probably clapped at 7 months, hi-fives daddy only since 7 months but does not wave hi or bye yet, I keep trying to teach him. . .I can tell he is trying though.

DS #1 did most things late. He needed EI...I NOW see that most babies do these things early, like my second son.
Ryan clapped, pointed and waved at about 8 months...
Johnny did not point until after 18 months (which i know is very late). He clapped at about 12 months and played peek a boo and stuff like that, but did not point at things of interest at the usual year mark.
I would not really worry about anything unless its after 15 months and not happened..that seems to be the age of concern from what my ped. said

Is he reaching for things he wants and looking at you? When he hears "bye bye" does he look at other people and see what they are doing?
