ah the one I'm looking at near me is 1700 a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so that seems very reasonable to me. . so hard, so expensive. . why do I not make more money
i don't have that kind of money for day care....i might just make my LO get a job
Let us know where they are hiring LO's. Our LO needs a job as well!

I am a licensed in home family daycare provider....That rate seems fairly accurate for infant care, but generally speaking ( especially with an in home daycare setting) your rates witll go down substantially when the baby turns 2...
With in-home daycares , infants essentially take up 2 spots instead of one of our ratio ( hence the increased rate ) After age 2, they are no longer considered infants ...
$285 sounds pretty reasonable especially for a center ( if you break it down, it only ends up being a little more than $4.00 and hour)

my DD attends a daycare in Throggs Neck (Bronx) and we pay $200/week.
That's M-F from 7:30am - 5:30pm . . . so $40/day.
That INCLUDES her meals! (not milk because they serve skim and she is on 2%)
the daycare gods were smiling down on me the day we found this place

thanks everyone for thier inputs. I think I may look into a few licensed in home daycare though I am little nervous about this. I dont know if I should only look into a place if it is recommended to me by someone i know.

Im a preschool teacher and I have to say it is A LOT of money!!! Its also a lot of work. Does your job have child care reimbursement? DSS can help if you and your hubby make under a certain amount. Also tax time you can claim your childcare expenses. HTH
