Moms that pumped-- when did you stop?
I feel so much heartache over this. With DD I had a lot of trouble BFing and the doctor told me to supplement and thought I didnt have enough of a supply since I had a breast reduction... that, coupled with the fact that i had no clue what I was doing, I lasted BFing until she was 3 months (along with supplimenting)...
Now with DS, I felt like I knew what I was doing and I was determined to BF him longer. Well, turns out he is a lazy nurser, and wasn't emptying my boob completely, so after a horrible trip to the hospital for dehydration/choking incident, I went to mainly pumping- I have tried everything to increase my supply, but nothing seems to work- he is a little over 4 months now, and I have been getting at least enough to give him one bottle a day, which made me happy. However, lately I have been getting less and less milk- not even enough for a full 6 or 7oz bottle... im not sure if it is still worth it to keep pumping- (i do it twice a day, once in the am and once in the pm) I feel so terrible giving it up... im just not sure...
So if you have gotten this far- at what point did you decide to stop pumping/breastfeeding? I know happy mom/ happy baby- I am happy either way, I just wish I was getting more, and I just dont know if it is worth 40+minutes a day to only get 5 oz of milk or less

Unfortunately, I don't have any good advice for you since my BF/pumping was a complete nightmare.
However, I believe that if your LO is happy and healthy BF and/or with formula, you're a wonderul Mom.

Re: Moms that pumped-- when did you stop?
at 10 months I only pump betw. 3 and 4 oz every 3 or so hours. so 2 pumping sessions gets me about 7 oz.
nothing will help you boost your supply more than pumping more. is it possible to put him to the breast now?
I am sorry this is making you so sad.

ds #2 is 6 weeks and I am thinking of stopping, it seems everything is working against me... my boobs hurt, whenever I pump my 3 year old turns my apartment upside down, it just causes me so much stress... don't have any advice but I do understand what you are going through

I have been pumping for 4 months and two weeks. I think you need to add at least one additional pumping session in if you want to increase your supply. Twice a day is not enough.
