We have a co-op now, so maintenance does it but in the future when we have a house, I think DH will actually like to do it

I hired a landscaper back half way through the season. I did it all last year but DS was taking naps which he never takes anymore so it's so hard for me to do it.
I can't keep up anyway!
Honestly they come in 15 minutes with 3 guys. It's perfect!
It takes me HOURS to do the same thing! 1 hour for front yard and curbs (I have a corner lot!) if I bag. And another 1.5 hour for the back if I bag also. That's not even included edging!

We always did it ourselves (and still do) and I always enjoyed it (making patterns in the grass, etc), but this summer has been so brutal, I'm ready to give in.
We have 1/2 acre.

I wish someone was doing it for us...I did it twice and I complained so much afterwards that DH just does it now :) He tries to do it 1x a week but it takes hours to mow, weedwack, and use the blower after. I wish that was time we were spending together as a family...how much is everyone paying? We have less than a 1/2 acre...

DH does ours but we literally have 10 minutes of grass to mow. The majority of our property is pavers.
We are also the only ones on the block that do ours and the only ones with GRASS left! Go figure, hah!

DH takes care of it. He's a lunatic about it. Sometimes I wish he would hire a landscaper because on his only day off, he's out there for hours.

we pay to have it done. My DH doesn't have the time and he'd much prefer to be lounging in the pool on the weekends
We pay $38 a week for a little over a 1/2 acre.

Landscaper. DH commutes 2.5 hours everyday(sometimes more) and I have the 2 kids. For the $30 a week it's well worth it for us to have someone else do it.

Us too - it's 25 a week for mowing.
When we first bought the house, DH insisted on doing it himself - which I was fine with, but we had 5 million flower beds from the previous owners (She was a SAHM and LOVED to garden with her daughter- I have a black thumb and ZERO time) So, last year we hired a landscaper - and our lawn and beds lookes like sh*t - I have NEVER had so many weeds -
All of my neighbors (all use different landscapers) properties look like crap too -
This year DH went back to doing it himself, - We seeded the backyard flowerbeds w/ grass - and mulched the hell out of the front landscaping (which was NOT fun, but only a one day job) and we have the best looking lawn on the block -

even if i had the money to do so i wouldn't hire a landscaper to do weekly maintenance its the only thing my husband does in our house and if he didn't do that i think i would kill him.

DH does it. He hates doing it. Too bad. We don't have $100+ a month extra to spend on landscapers.
Besides, he bought brand new equipment when we moved in (lawn mower, edger, blower - we might even have a weed wacker, I don't know). He needs to get his monies worth out of all that now.
