Ugh! House Hunting Vent
Please don't move this post. Just gotta vent and I know my Parenting girls better
Here's the short story. DH and I have been looking at homes in NJ for a while. We fell in love with this one home on-line. By my parents so I already know the house. Beautiful, big, inground heated pool, already has swingset included, kids bathroom done great, kitchen new, etc.
One of my very good friends emailed me happy b-day on Tues. We were going back and forth b.c him and his wife are looking as well. He's in NJ and looking in the same area as we are. I opened my mouth and said we're looking at this house over the weekend. HE said.. Oh, my DW has an appt for us to see it tomorrow.
After that the conversation dwindled and that's it.
I told DH so we got nervous and called BIL who's our realtor.
Fast Forward to today and I find out that someone put a bid in on the house. Our house (ok, not ours, but you just know). We don't know who, but I have a feeling.
Seriously, am I going to get in a bidding war with my one of my BF's. WHich, BTW, his wife isn't the friendliest and none of our friends cares for her.
Ugh... I'm sick to my stomach. DH may run and see it today.

WOW! If it is them I would be pretty upset. I mean of course the house isn't "your" house but if it's a house you told them about that you love I can't see why they would do that to you! I would be offended if my friend did that to me.

exactly. He also told me they've looked at 10 other houses b4. Suddenly they put in a bid.
I haven't talked to him since. Not that I'm angry with him, but I just don't want to say anything that could hurt the situation

Wow..t hat's a bad situation.. but remember you don't know if it was them.. def sounds like it is but you never know!!!
this happened to us but niether of us knew it was the other bidding on the same house..thank goodness.. in the end we both ended up with diff houses.!!
S*cks Erica!! Good luck though!!! I hope you get the house of your dreams.. It sounds amazing!!

Thanks Linda! I know, I know. It MAY not be them, but I just have this gut feeling. 
DH is going there today to check it out. I will keep you ladies posted. Hoping to get a house and keep a long time friendship

Monmouth County area.
DH is on his way there now and I just have to sit and wait. Ugh... today is dragging

I would be *%&%* off!!! Like you said, it's not like it's officially "your house", but still, it just doesn't seem like the right thing to do! Good luck! Try to have your brother who is your agent find out what their bid is, seriously, this can be done, our realtor did it! Then, up them by a few grand...I'm evil :) LOL

I never said anything to anyone about our house when we went to see and put in an offer. I started to tell people after we signed the contract for the very reason. Only my family knew about it.

Well, I learned my lesson and keeping my big mouth shut! 
DH is there now so keep your fingers crossed. I'm going to have a pit in my stomach to see what happens and I know nothing may come out of it today. Just keeping my fingers crossed.
Almost time to pick up Mason.
