How does EI work? Do you need a referral from a pediatrician?
I would like to get 15m DS tested for speech delay. If anything, I'd like to get him tested for peace of mind.

No. You do not need a referral from your pediatrican to contact EI. If your child needs an OT eval, they will tell you to get a script from your ped.

I'm upstate but I'm pretty sure its by county...
I googled my county and early intervention and got a phone #

Each county has their own EI program. Just google "XXX" Early Intervention, and the info. should come up.
You don't need anything from your ped.

You don't need a script for OT or PT evals in EI. You do however, for CSE. DS was just evaluated for OT in EI the other day and I didn't need a script!

CPSE is committee on preschool special education and is through the school district- covers the child from 3-5 and CSE is committee of special education - through the school district and covers child from 5-21.
