Paver patios
What kind of pricing should we expect for a paver patio in our backyard? Before we start getting estimates, I just wanted to guage how much we should expect to shell out.

What size space? What type of pavers? Amortec? Also square or octagon??? Are you going over concrete? Lotsa factors.

Nope, over grass/dirt. Square pavers. Most likely armortec. The space would be 10'x20' and then 4'x12'. I want it to be able to start by our back door and then around a little bit of our den, which is extended off the house.

ETA: OMG, I'm so sorry, that completely wrote that wrong. It's $9-13 a square foot with everything included - Pavers, labor, gravel, sand. Sorry about that.

I agree, except the quotes we received were the same as above except that included labor, all base material and the paver.
One thing to consider, if you do you lots of curves and not square you have to order more pavers which you pay for but a lot gets wasted. We didn't know that and nobody told us. We payed for an extra 200 sq. ft of pavers but I don't have that 200 sq. ft in my patio of that makes sense.

Yup curves mean extra pavers and materials that you pay for. We had a really large pile of scrap & we also have a lot of pavers left over. But we are using them to make some new garden beds and then we will see what we do with the rest.

Hey...my dad/brother own a construction company. It should cost about $10 per square foot (average). That's what they charge but that includes pavers being set on a solid concrete base rather than RCA (crushed base)...this will prevent the patio from sinking. HTH
