fasting for 1 hour glucose?

My Dr. told me to eat a small bowl of cheerios before taking the glucose test but lie to them and day I fasted.... anyone else do that?

I was told not to fast. They didn't ask me when I was there either. I passed.

the place where i go to get bloodwork said to fast...the tech said "they will tell you not to fast but you should"...i haven't gone for mine yet...so im not sure what my dr. will say?

I was told not to fast. Had cereal and a cup of coffee that morning. They asked if I fasted and I said no, then they handed me the glucose drink. I failed by 10 points. I took my 3 hr last thurs and have not received the results yet.

i was told to eat normally before my one hour until 2 hours before. 2 hours before i was supposed to stop eating and 1 hour before i was told to drink the glucose drink.

i was told to fast - not to eat anything from midnight on..im taking it this friday and trying to really watch what i eat until then..i barely failed when i was preggo with dd and hoping not to have to worry about the gestational diabetes again

I didn't have to lie about not fasting for the 1 hour because they didn't ask me.

I failed the 1 hr and my number was I think 188.

And despite the fear I had of the 3 hr test, it really wasn't that bad.

I didn't fast. I had scrambled eggs with cheese before my test. I passed with 110.

The nurse at my dr's office said I didn't have to fast but if I did eat anything, to make sure it was bland. I ended up going for the test at 8:30 am though, and I never eat before that, so I guess I did fast. Passing or failing really doesn't have as much to do with what you eat as much as how your body processes sugars. That's what the test is looking for. You could be the healthiest eater out there and still fail.

I was told not to eat 3 hours prior. I ate breakfast, went to the gym, had a yogurt, then waited the 3 hours. I think the gym was a bad idea cause I WAS STARVING...but passed with no problem!

I feel like every Dr. and place is different. My Dr told me not to fast for the 1 hour, but if I failed, I had to fast for the 3 hour. When I went to Sunrise in Babylon, they asked if I fasted and I said that I hadn't eaten anything yet (it was 8am) and my Dr. told me not to. For those girls, who did fast, their blood was tested twice- once before the test and after.

I passed, so I don't know if fasting had something to do with it. Sorry you failed

I finished up a bacon egg and cheese bagel in the car before I went in for my test

When I told the tech that I didn't fast, she said "well, see you back for the 3 hour"

I was worried that I would fail, but I passed with a result well below the cutoff (don't remember what the exact # was)
