Do you have a playroom too??

We just moved and C3's room is HUGE, so like 90% of his toys are in there and it was making me think about not putting toys in his room and where people who do this keep them

Re: Those who don't have toys in DC's bedroom

We just started to move some toys to Claire's room.

We have and office/play room down stairs but she really only plays in there if she is playing with her kitchen.

The rest of the toys we keep in a closet or in designated spots in the family room. I have two black armoires in the corners of the room, I hide toys in there too.

We have 1 basket of toys in the family room, but it's overflowing.

The swing, jumperoo, play mat and bouncer are in designated spots in the family room.

Probably sounds more crowded than it is, but it's still a lot. I just try to keep it as neat as possible because, as you know, constant toy explosion drives me batty.

Oh, and Claire's anywhere chair is in there too.

Basically, everything gets banished to a corner wherever possible. Little stuff is in cabinets, big stuff is strategically hidden as best as possible. And, most of my furniture was bought with storage in mind so I can put toys away. Coffee table baskets have books, armoires have toys, console has cabinets.

Here are some pictures (best pics of the room, not the kids!):

They have a playroom and that's where the toys are.
They only have furniture and decor in their room.

I wish I had a playroom. DD has some toys in her room and some in our den where we always are. Chat Icon

Re: Those who don't have toys in DC's bedroom

DD really doesn't have that many toys. There are some in the den where we spend most of our time. We also have a playroom in the basement, but we don't hang out there that much. Right we have a full size mattress down there. When we convert E's room to a big girl bed, that will come out and we'll get a couch down there.

Re: Those who don't have toys in DC's bedroom

All Chelsea's toys are in the den. She never plays in her room. Our basement is finished so when she is older they will go down there and I will have my den back!

No playroom. All of his toys except one are in the living room. I hate it, it's so cluttered, but that's where we all hang out. he's too young to play alone in his room.

we have a playroom, its our 3rd bedroom.

We have our master, his bedroom and the 3rd is the playroom. It all used to just be in the living room.

Re: Those who don't have toys in DC's bedroom

If you have the room I would keep toys in his room, at least some.

He is old enough to play in his room or he can bring them into the living room when he wants to play with them.

Re: Those who don't have toys in DC's bedroom

DS' room is too small. LR used to have ALL the toys. Until I had had it and took one of the bedroom (with the computer) and made it a playroom.

I kept 2 toys in his bedroom.

Re: Those who don't have toys in DC's bedroom

We have a finished basement and part of it is his "playroom". We also have a small toy area in our living room on the main level. We keep his books in his room.
In our new house he will have a gigantic playroom Chat Icon

this is what we did. Our computer desk is now in one of the closets in our master.

Like this picture, but not nearly as nice and organized. Thats a project for a later date.External Image

Re: Those who don't have toys in DC's bedroom

The girls bedroom is very small so there aren't any toys in there.

All their toys/gear are in our living room so our living essentially looks like a playroom.

We have a separate room in the finished basement we use as his play room. Books and a couple of toys are in his BR.

Our family room is the primary playroom, but he also has a mini playroom in my office/sewing room.
