So does anyone have a young toddler that actually listens?
My kids are now 18 months old and I feel like all I do is say No. Don't do that. Thats not nice.  Does anyone have a child around this age that actually listens?

DS is 16 months and he sometimes does listen. If I say "give it to mommy" depending on the object he does return it to me. If he doesn't want to give it to me he'll usually run away with it...lol

Declan has been bashing Ronan over the head with hard items constantly poor kid. And he does it multiple times even when Ronan cries

Do you do time outs? DS is 21 months and while I still do distraction/redirect with him for most tantrum issues, since there is no reasoning with him, for hitting and throwing toys that's an immediate time out for 90 seconds, then I make him say sorry and give me a hug.

I was which was in the little space created by our front door since I have it blocked because they were pulling out our heating vent, but now that they can climb stairs they just go over there and climb like 8 stairs and laugh I don't know where to put them. I usually put the toys in time out

Luckily, yes I do. My DD is 20 months and for the most part she does everything we tell her to do and she knows what she shouldn't be doing. Of course that doesn't mean she doesn't have her little moments here and there but on the whole, she is thankfully VERY well behaved. I  that doesn't change as we head into the "terrible two's".
EDIT - When she does do something really naughty, like throwing her toys at the dog, we give her a time out. So far it's working great. She stays in the one spot, pouts because she knows she did something bad, and then after she is good again.

My DD was amazing. So good. So easy. The universe is paying me back 10 fold with my sun. He's a lunatic. He laughs in the face of discipline. This kid is seriously wearing me out.

See my kids will listen if I tell them don't touch or thats not for babies. But they do not listen when it comes to aggressive behavior. I don't know if thats because they're twins and have had to fight for what they want or what.

Sometimes DS listens and other times it's like talking to a brick wall. Since I started doing time outs, the hitting has gotten SO much better. I've only given him a handful of time outs. The threat of one is usually enough to stop the aggressive behavior.
