Summer activities and an infant
My DS will be 3 months on June 8th. I plan on bringing him to the pool and beach throughout the summer. Question-did you bring stroller onto the beach, did you just lay them onblanket under blanket, etc. I'm trying to get an idea of what we need to bring and how to prepare. Also, did you bring your DC into the pool with you at an early age?

We got a beach "tent". Thing is Awesome! DD is 4 months. I plan on putting her in the pool this weekend! Be sure to bring a hat and blanket to cover DC's legs.

I got the beach tent as well..I guess I can just lay him in there for naps and play with him on blanket underneath umbrella when he's awake. I worry about sand blowing in his face so low...
Also, did your Dr. recommend NO sunscreen? That's on my list of ?s next visit. I have a hat already to do and those LS sun shirts.

I didnt ask yet about sunscreen. I want to wait till 6 months and try to keep her out of the sun as much as possible. I guess I should ask that soon.... I too am concerned about taking her to the beach..heat, sand etc..
One thing is for sure, we wont be spending hours and hours at the beach like we used to

Have a beach tent, it is amazing...a real lifesaver. DS # 1 was in the pool at 3 mos & DS #2 will be also. I'd get the SPF swim suits, a hat & use sunblock. My pediatrician said that while it's not recommended before 6months, it's better than the potential sun-damage; I just make sure to give a good bath to wash it off.

My ped said I could use the Neutrogena Free & Clear sunblock on DS who is 2 months old.

He's definitely going in the pool with me! Did any of you ladies use earplugs to avoid ear infections? I heard that was something to think of. I know they said no sunscreen but we plan on bringing him everywhere with us and that includes a lot of sun (shade for him) time...

I suggest an umbrella and papasan seat. The baby will be more comfortable instead of laying on lumpy sand and the bar will keep him occupied.
