Who will go see United 93?
I know alot of people hate the fact that they made a movie about this. My FH hates the movies, but I am going to see it by myself.
Anyone else?

I also cried when I saw the commerical. I think it's too early to make a movie about it.

Re: Who will go see United 93?
at this point I have zero desire to see it. even if I did, I think it would be better to watch it on video at home, so I could go at my own pace with it.

No way. That is one day in my life that I do not want to relive.
I can't even watch the commercial, I grab the remote and switch asap.

Re: Who will go see United 93?
I absolutely do NOT want to see it - emotionally, I know I just cannot handle it..
My Dh is of the complete opposite opinion - he feels that its "important" we "do not forget" and that the movie is , unfortunately, a representation of our history...
I understand his point, but I still do not need to relive the day in any way, shape or form - maybe in time I can watch, but certainly not now
DH will be going with his brother

I really do not understand the "never forget" argument. Who the hell can ever forget that day?????????
And if you are born after it, it will never have the same impact. Who in our generation is emotionally effected by Pearl Harbor or Vietnam? I know my dad can easily get emotional about Vietnam but I can't.

Daniela,I agree with you WHOLEHEARTEDLY. you cannot imagine the amount of bickering DH and I have done over this "never forget" topic when he tries to convince me "I should see" this movie. Just because so many of us choose NOT to see a movie about this day does not mean we can or will EVER FORGET.
All I can do is gently remind him that I and soo many others were in Manhattan on 9/11. I wondered if my friends who worked at WTC (or boyfriend at the time) was alive or dead. I wondered what the hell was happening in our country and if ANY of us were going to make it out of NYC alive .... I felt cut off from my family, my friends, the world .. and I was horrified, like we ALL were.. I can go through that day minute by minute and feel as though it was happening to me this very second !
I think we all live with our personal memories of that day no matter where we were .. I certainly don't need reenactments and theatrical movies to remind me of the awful reality we all lived through on that horrible day

Here in the NYC metro area it's not easy to forget, but I was STUNNED when family members from the midwest told us that we need to "move on, it's not that big a deal. New Yorkers act like you were the only ones attacked." I don't think we do, but we were attacked the hardest. IMO, if the the FAA didn't ground planes so quickly, many other cities would have seen similar devestation.
