What time for a Sunday 1st birthday?

DS' birthday party is going to be on Aug 1st (a Sunday). I'm struggling with times because he generally will take a nap anywhere from 1 - 2:30pm. I guess I can try to move up his nap schedule that day, but if you were to plan a sunday 1st bday in the summer what time would you start it and how long would it go for? I was thinking 1 - 3 or possibly 2 - 4, but is 2 hours long enough?? I'm doing it at a VFW hall btw.

How long do you have the hall for? Two hours seems short.

DS' party is this Sunday and we did 3pm (but it is at our house and DH has to work the night before, so I want him to be able to sleep a bit too)

We did 1pm and I would say probably more like 4 hours

I think 1-5 or 12-4 sounds good

I think I have the hall for 4 hours (I'm meeting with them on Tuesday to give the deposit and they'll tell me then). But My guess is, I'm going to need at least an hour to set up and clean up. I dont know how it normally works if the set up and clean up time is included in the 4 hours or if its not considered part of the time you have the place

But I'm thinking 1 - 5 might be the best too. I think 12 is going to be too early since I might be able to get him to nap around then.

I'd do 1pm start.

We're doing noon, but only because the party is @ a covered park pavilion. The park has a water playground that's only open til 4pm, so I wanted the kids to have lots of time with it. I didn't put down an end time, but I'll try to keep the party on a 4 hr schedule with chips/apps, then meal, then dessert.
