Low Progesterone

I have been ttc for four months and have not been lucky. I just found out that I have low pregesterone levels. Has anyone had this and if so, were you able to conceive and have a healthy pregnancy?

Re: Low Progesterone

I just found out my level was low also. I can't speak to success with any specific treatment yet, but my doc bumped up my Clomid dosage to 150mg and we're going to do IUI (we were set on the IUI before finding out about the progesterone level though).

Re: Low Progesterone

Your doctor could give you a script for progesterone.

my RE gives progesterone supps for almost everyone. he says it cant do any harm if you dont need it but will def help if you do need it. so its better to take them just in case.

were you prescribed them from your doc when they told you about the low progesterone? i think most are suppositories for the lower doses. they are NOT fun to use but they do get the job done. its easily treatable so i wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Low Progesterone

I also had low progesterone. One round of 150mg (100mg wasnt sufficient) of Clomid did the trick and thats how I got that blonde headed guy right there.....

I have low progesterone and my RE prescribed progesterone suppositories during my 2WW. I am currently 7w pregnant and will continue taking them until I'm about 20w (maybe longer). As long as you are taking pills/suppositories, you can most definitely be successful in getting your BFP! Good Luck!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Low Progesterone

Out of curiosity, when did your doctor check? At what point in your cycle? I'm wondering if I have the same problem.

I was going to say the same (we see the same RE)

I actually used Crinone progesterone this cycle and found it was so much better than the suppositories!! It comes in an applicator and I found it was less messy.

Re: Low Progesterone

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences. I was tested 10 days after my ovulation test came back positive.

I am speaking to my doctor today about possible treatments! Thank you!!!!

Re: Low Progesterone

Thanks ... What RE do you go to? I wanted to check for PCOS and was wondering where I should go.

My doctor just prescribed me progesterone cream... hopefully it works?
