Re: Constipation
You can take Colace (generic is docusate) 100mg three times a day. When things get "loose", cut back to twice a day.

Re: Constipation
Lots and lots of water and start eating more fiber. There is also a prenatal called Citrical that contains a low dose of colace (50mg) maybe you can switch to that?

Re: Constipation
You need to increase your fiber intake. Drink lots of water and also drink prune juice. I actually received an article about this today in my inbox.
ETA>>Here is the article. Hope it's helpful.
Why am I so constipated? If it's any consolation, constipation is a common problem in pregnancy, affecting at least half of pregnant women. The culprits are the pressure of your growing uterus on your rectum, along with pregnancy hormones, which slow the movement of food through your digestive tract. Iron supplements can make constipation worse.
What can I do about my constipation? Here are some tips for preventing and easing constipation: • Eat high-fiber foods such as cereals, whole-grain breads, and fresh fruits and vegetables every day. Add a couple of tablespoons of unprocessed wheat bran (available at health food stores) to your cereal in the morning, and follow it with a glass of water.
• Drink plenty of water — at least six to eight glasses a day. A glass of fruit juice every day, especially prune juice, can be also helpful.
• Exercise regularly. Walking, swimming, cycling on a stationary bike, and yoga, can all help ease constipation, and leave you feeling more fit and healthy besides.
• Listen to your body. Never avoid going to the bathroom when you feel the urge.
• Ask your healthcare provider about taking an over-the-counter fiber supplement.
Is constipation ever serious? Straining during a bowel movement or passing a hard stool can lead to — or aggravate — hemorrhoids, swollen veins in the rectal area. Hemorrhoids can be extremely uncomfortable, though they rarely cause serious problems and in most cases they go away fairly soon after your baby is born. Call your doctor or midwife immediately if you have severe constipation accompanied by abdominal pain.
