Question...
I am looking into buying a digital OPK, Clear Blue Easy ones. So I see that there are just individual stick( sold in sets of 5 or 7) and Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor machine, where you use one machine and buy refill sticks. Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor machine is around $150. SO I am not sure which one to buy? What you are using, ladies? Is $150 for Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor worth it? Sorry, it might sound stupid, but I am confused.

Re: Question...
I have a brand new monitor that I might be selling. I bought it off ebay after the start of this cycle, but we've since decided to do IUI next cycle so I won't need it. FM me if you're interested.

Re: Question...
I bought the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor. You can buy them used on Ebay for 75-80 dollars. Even a new one is cheaper on Ebay. It is definitely worth it to me. I used it to get pregnant with my son.

Re: Question...
I have the Clear Blue Easy monitor and I can't say that I love it.... I prefer using the digital Clear Blue Easy OPK. The only advantage with the Clear Blue Easy monitor is that it lets you know when the LH surge is getting closer because besides just detecting the LH surge it also detects the estrogen increase in your urine. Other than that it's overpriced, you need to use at least 10 sticks per cycle, and you need to test in the morning during a specific 3 hour window (at least that's what the instructions recommend); the downside to that is that the surge never starts early in the morning. The best time to test is between 12 noon and 8 pm. So when you use the monitor early in the morning it means that you actually surged the day before and missed it....

If it's not a 3 hour window, then it's a 4 hour window tops - but definetely nothing more than that...

You can't, have to buy a new kit each time. I searched forever cause I assumed the same thing. So stupid!

according to the instructions it is a 6 hour window. i set mine so that i can test anytime between 4am-10am. it explains more here:
CBEFM FAQ
i've also read that the best time to test for a surge is in the afternoon but i've been using the CBEFM for a couple of months and i haven't missed a surge by using FMU with the monitor.
i personally like the monitor better than the OPK's b/c it tells you the "high" days as well as the peak so you can anticipate the surge and start BDing beforehand.

I bought mine a year and a half ago.... (I guess I've been trying a lot longer than most of you ) Oh well, maybe now the new ones are made with a 6 hour window but I still prefer the digital OPK... I find it more convinient to use, and easier to take to the bathroom at work when I want to test without having to carry my purse with me to hide the monitor The digital OPK I can just stick in my pocket

Re: Question...
ah! that makes sense! we've been trying for awhile too but i did get preggo last year and then lost the baby at 12 weeks so here we are again......all in all, we've been trying to start our family since the beginning of 09 so i know how you feel i used the OPK's for a long time and liked them....the only reason i prefer the CBEFM is b/c i'm SO BAD at holding my pee in the afternoons at work! i had some close calls where i swore i was about to have an accident while waiting
lots of baby dust to you!!

I know exactly what you mean with trying to hold it in for 4 hours before you use the OPK in the afternoon and evening hours I always feel like my bubble's gonna burst I make sure not to drink anything when that time comes because I just know I will have an accident I wish you all the luck in the world and lots of
