Tuesday QOTD
Good Morning Everyone!
Will your DC have Godparents? And if yes do you already have them picked out for when the day comes?

Re: Tuesday QOTD
Our DC will not have Godparents. Not that I dont believe in it or anything but growing up my Godparents were not really involved in anything with me, I really dont even know if they remember they are my Godparents My DH Godmother is more involded and she still calls him her Godson which is really nice. But we have already decided that our child will have so many Aunts & Uncles that will love them that there is no need for us to pick just one. Besides we dont want to start any wars or make anyone feel bad or hurt... So they will all be a part of their life and our DC will be blessed with so many great people Again its not that I dont think Godparents arent special or anything and if I was asked to be a Godmother I would love it but for us and our DC it just isnt a big deal.

Re: Tuesday QOTD
I don't plan on baptizing my DC's but I do plan on having a spiritual ceremony that recognizes their birth. So I am not sure if I would call them Godparents but I do plan on having my sister invloved in some sort of "godparent" way. I hope that makes sense...lol.

Re: Tuesday QOTD
Yes, the female will be my sister. Not sure who the male will be. We are raising our children Catholic because DH does not take part in his religion and I do. But b/c of this neither of his brothers can be godfathers in our church since they are Greek Orthodox, not Catholic. I was looking into this and it is harder to be a godparent than to get married in the Catholic church, so we will really need to think about that part.

I didn't either, but my BFF's sister in law is baptizing their child in the Catholic church and wanted my BFF's husband to be the godfather. He was baptized and confirmed Catholic, but because he was married in the Episcopal church he can't. It's pretty crazy. DH's BFF is Catholic and not married yet, so maybe we can use him. LOL!

Re: Tuesday QOTD
Yes, my child will definitely have god parents. I've been thinking about who it would be, but haven't decided. My mom chose people who weren't part of the family--close family friends. I always liked that idea, but then again, my godfather hasn't been involved in my life for some time; same thing for my brother's godmother. So maybe family is the better way to go? For the most part, they'll always be in my child's life. I think DH would want his brother to be GF.

Re: Tuesday QOTD
Yes our children will have godparents and be baptized. The firstborn's will be my best friend of 22 years and most likely DH's older brother.

I believe that only 1 of the godparents has to be Catholic. I am going to be my nephew's godmother and my SIL's brother will be godfather however, he is not Catholic.
