PCO Sisters
So I decided to make a thread for all the ladies that have PCO's. We can come here to vent, share our stories, ask questions and do whatever else we want!!
I'll start off with the first question. I check my cervix every night in the shower and lately I've been having milky/creamy mucus. Today it was kind of stretchy. I doubt I am Oing so my question is do you guys find that you still have CM even with PCO's?? If you do have CM throughout your cycles what is it like? Or are you always dry?

Re: PCO Sisters
Before I started medicated cycles, my CM was always so random It's so tempting to go based on CM since that's what you read about (especially if you read up on all the great info in Taking Charge of your Fertility) But, for me personally it wasn't a sign of anything.
I still stand by Flowerwife's advice in your last post to start temping!

Re: PCO Sisters
A common symptom of PCOS is high levels of LH. This means you will have EWCM even when you are not going to ovulate. It also means that you can not rely on fertility monitors or temping, unfortunately.

I didn't realize that about the EWCM and higher LH levels. So basically should I stop checking my EWCM? How about checking my cervix? Do you guys check your cervix? Mine kind of feels hard all the time grr

Basically..... I never checked my cervix because I never figured out how I just never knew if I was doing it right.
The only thing I did was temp right after going off the pill and BEFORE getting officially diagnosed with PCOS, just to confirm that I was not ovulating. Once I started seeing the RE, I stopped everything and let the RE take over.

Re: PCO Sisters
I get EWCM when I "think" I'm ovuating. Last month I thought I did due to the EWCM and I had a pain on my side. I went to my OBGYN and they confirmed the cyst through a sono. 2 weeks later I got AF. It seems as though my body is trying but instead of realeasing an egg, I get cysts. My cysts get pretty large and sometimes rupture which my dr. said isn't typical for women with PCOS.

Re: PCO Sisters
I have pcos and high lh BUT i only get real ewcm when i am really going to o. Otherwise it starts out stickiesh and gradually moves on to a wattery creamy combo and stays that way unless i o. Today is cd31 and the last two days it def changed to a more ew glossy-like substance TMI. I have oed as late as cd32 and this is my first metformin cycle so i am hopeful.

Re: PCO Sisters
I got pregnant with DD without any help... but I had just come off BCP, so I think that is what helped regulate me back then.

I did. I truly believe it was a miracle for us and "the stars were aligned." I was on my 4th month of no period. I was going to take provera to get AF but waited b/c I was in Florida on vaca. and I had to go for blood work once AF came. So I waited and got preggos down there. I was so shocked, and thrilled. I'm hoping it will be like that again but my dr. said highly unlikely.

Great story!!! Congrats on your DC. Also I was told that usually its easier to get pregnant with your second child if you have PCO's. I hope that doctor was right!! Good luck

Re: PCO Sisters
I was told with PCO I would need help but I was younger and didn't think about it. was on bcp for over 1 year and missed 3 days and got prego with first DD last year. Trying again but this time no bcp and its proving harder.

Re: PCO Sisters
I doubt I'm Oing. And I know as mentioned already on this board we tend to have CM due to higher levels of LH...but last week I actually had a glob in my underwear (wasn't leftovers either). Boobs are a little sore and I was a little crampy on Friday. So my fingers are crossed that maybe...just maybe I Oed. Don't want to get too excited but just maybe.

Re: PCO Sisters
What do you guys feel about fertailaid? I'm thinking about trying it but afraid it may not even be worth it for women with PCO's. Any one take it? Speak to their doctor about it? I may give my Dr. a call to see what she thinks about it.
