How close are you woith your mom??
I have been noticing a lot in my family and people I know that i see a lot of times that mothers and daughter have a lot of problems getting along. Thankfully i get along very well with my mom but i have been seeing it so much lately that i worry if i find out I am having a girl ( which i find out in about two hours  ) how do you make sure you dont have that bad relationship? And when i say bad relationship its mostly things like if the parents are diovorced the daughter blaming the mother, the daughter thinking that the mother treats the other sibling differently, and the other sibling is not nedcessarily a brother i know a famly of thregirls whe teh oldest feel her mom tras her different form teh other two.
I know you can have problems with boys two but in all honesty i dont really knwo to many guys that have these attitudes towards their moms and the girls i know do.
Not really looking for advice for me although ill take it if you have it but more opinions and your expereince

I don't know what to say to your situation specifically-but my mom and I are like best friends (with some exceptions) she is my hero. We've always been close but even now we're the closest we've ever been.
I hope that if it turns out to be a girl-that you have the chance to have a best friend in your daughter.
We never had the tumultuous relationship-yes, we fought-but I was a teenager once!

My mother and I get along but are not close at all....don't consider her a best friend by any means.
I know I am having a and I know how to act (the opposite of my mom) to have a close relationship with her.

My mom drives me insane sometimes, but that being said, she and I are extremely close. I think it's because we're so close that she drives me so insane. She has her flaws and I have mine and I think we both take everything so personally when it comes to each other that sometimes it gets in the way. But I would say 95% of the time, we have an amazing relationship.

Ditto! Only difference is I don't know the sex of our baby, but I already know of the things I WON'T do that my mom did with me & my brother.

My mom and I have a great relationship. She can be a nagging mom and I also agree that we argued a lot when I was a teenager, but overall I do consider her my best friend.
I think the key is to try to understand when she needs a friend and when she needs a parent (I feel like a TLC Life Lesson )
Also remember that even kids are human and have personalities and just like you don't get along with some people out there, you may butt heads with your child too. It doesn't make you love your child less.

Mine too! We always talked often, and I talk to her every day on the phone now...Even when I was a teenager and I am sure more difficult to handle, we were close and always went shopping together, etc.

My mom and I are VERY close, like best friends. I talk to her at least twice a day and am so thankful for all of her love, support, and friendship.

MOm and I are very close. She will do anything for me and vice versa.
My dad and I are very close too. Honestly, I go to him for advice rather then ask her because he is a lot more rational. Mom 's advice would be conquer and kill . She just doesn't want to see me get hurt.

My mom and I are very close. It took us a long time to get to this point. She was like a different person when I was growing up and we didn't get along AT ALL. Now we have a great relationship. We have the same sense of humor. She cracks me up. She is also one of the most thoughtful people I know.

I consider my mom my best friend and hero too. We have always been close, but since i came home from college about 10 years ago, we really have gotten closer. I don't speak to her every day, but she is still the first person i want to go to if i need some consoling of any type or advice.

If I had to live without my mother, I'd be lost. I love her more than anything - she is my strength, she is truly my everything. BUT we weren't always as close as we are now.
I really had to pay attention to how my mom reacted to certain things; I made a conscious effort teach myself how to talk to her so that she'd hear me and be responsive. Once I did that, my mom revealed so much to me about her personal life that it made me stop looking at her as just a parent. She was afraid for me to see her flaws, but once I did, I just loved her more for it. It took a while (between 19 and 22) but it's paid off so much. We still have our disagreements, but our relationship is amazing now.

My Mom and I are extremely close! My Dad died when I was 17 and my Mom was 49. My sister got married a month later so it was just me and Mom left in the house. We kid that we kind of grew up together. I honestly don't know what I would do without her!
