So completely clueless....Home Owners Insurance question...
How do I get it? We are not doing the typical buy a house thing, this is an in family transfer, so I am not sure who to ask or who to call!

Call your insurance agent. If there is an existing policy you may be able to get your names added to that policy and eventually have the other's names removed. I just did this with State Farm.

We are in a similar situation and we COULDNT just transfer the name...............we are purchasing from family not transferring so it might be different
but we have to get our own insurance and then our family member has to cancel their insurance the day after closing
