Honest Opinion (crib related)
I'm locked into getting a white crib b/c we have a white dresser & other pieces we would save money on. I do not know the babies gender.
Normally I prefer darker woods for a boy. Do you like this is too girly if it is a boy? The room will be painted green.

I think this particular one is too girly but there are definitely other options regarding a white crib!

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
Yeah, I think if you go with something with less detailing you'll be fine. If it is a boy, you can do blues, greens, stripes or plaids....make it boyish.

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
We went with a white crib and a green/yellow room with white chair rail. Our crib is similar in shape to the one you are looking at, but it's very simple and plain.
I love it for a boy or girl.

As long as the bedding looks boyish its fine...white is neutral.

ITA - it's really pretty though.
What about these collections:
Essex
Lexington
Majestic
Actually a lot of the other collections are really nice and IMO, less girly.

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
Thanks for the input ladies.
Tine73... I like the Lexington and Majestic but they do not come in white. The Essex is kinda blah in person.

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
i am most likely doing a white crib for my , but i am not doing a convertible one bc while i think white is cute for baby , im not crazy about it for older boys.
i do think the bristol is a little too "girly" though -- sorry!

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
honestly, i think white is girly no matter what. if you're having a girl, that crib is beautiful. the detailing on the corners is gorgeous. it looks like a princess-y type crib to me.
with that being said, if you have to save money, then just find super boyish bedding and i'm sure it will look fine!

I like white for a boy or a girl. I think it's appropriate for a nursery no matter what the gender is.

I definitely think that that particular crib is girly. There are other white ones that aren't so girly though.

i think that this one is a little too girly if it's a boy but there are a million white cribs that you can choose from that will work either way!

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
My first child was a boy and his room had white furniture. I love white in a nursery for either gender. I have pics in my nursery album. That said, I think the crib you picked out looks a little too girly because of all the details (not the color. There are many other white cribs out there that are gender neutral. The one we used was Bonavita Peyton from Buy Buy Baby.

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
I agree white is gn, IMHO but this crib style is more girly. If, however, in person it looks different and you can imagine adding blue/red/green whatever to it and it would look more boy then go for it.

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
while i think antique white is too femanine for a boy, WHITE white is perfect think nautical!
but, the crib you selected might be a little too ornate for a boy

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
Just a thought, if you go with bristol. I dont think there is anywhere to tie the bumpers to the back part of the crib. I was about to order that crib and changed my mind bc my friends crib is like that and she hates it.

The style of the crib is what is making me think girly. White furniture is fine for a boy though

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
I would definitely classify that crib as girly - in any color.
If you want to stick with Munire (I have the Savannah collection for DD) I'd go with the Essex. I think it's neutral and it's available in white.

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
I think the one you picked looks girly. I have white furniture for my son. I think it must be discontinued because I could not find it on the BRU websight. I can't remember the maker, just that is was called the south hampton collection. When we saw it in BRU it had the boy nautica bedding in it. It is not girly at all. My DH remembered the name...it made by Basset. Bassett Furniture Basset Baby Southampton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib - White

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
I think a green room with a white crib can absolutely be boyish, especially with the right bedding! ALthough I really like the crib you posted, the style may be a little girly. If you're looking for a white crib, the crib we're getting also comes in white and it's a really good brand.. standard crib

Re: Honest Opinion (crib related)
I really don't think the one you picked is too girlie. I think once it is in a room painted for a boy, with boy bedding etc it would look great. If you love it get it.
