Re: anyone planning to be a SAHM
possibly. I'm trying to work out a part-time deal with work... and if that doesn't work, I plan on being a SAHM.
I've always wanted to be a SAHM so it wasn't a huge decision for me, but the p/t thing would be perfect...

Re: anyone planning to be a SAHM
I wasn't planning on being a SAHM, but I turned out to be!
I worked full time from when DS was 5-15 months, then decided it just wasn't working for us.
It was a HUGE decision. We are barely making it financially and I do not want to lose my job - it is seriously my dream job. We are allowed to take a leave of absence.... it just still makes me nervous.
But I woulnd't change a thing! I LOVE IT!

Re: anyone planning to be a SAHM
I went back to work f/t after my son was born (for about 8 months) and then quit and was a SAHM for 4 months... then I found an awesome flexible p/t job. I wok about 20 hours a week (2 days sometimes 2.5 or 3) and am home with my son the other days. It is the best of both worlds for me and hope to continue with this arrangement after my twins are born.

Re: anyone planning to be a SAHM
I am planning on being a SAHM, actually I already quit my job. I work as an auditor and did not want to go through a busy tax season so decided to bow out early.
It was a HUGE decision, I kept wondering if I was doing the right thing. But I've always known that I wanted to stay at home with my baby.
Not sure what it will be like when baby is here, maybe I won't like it at all and maybe I will love it. I think it differs a bit for everyone. I do have the option of going back to my job either part time or full whenever i'm ready to jump back into the workforce, so at least I do have some options.
You have to weigh the pros and cons and decide whether or not its right for you.

Re: anyone planning to be a SAHM
I am planning to be a SAHM. I have always said I wanted to be able to stay home w/ my kids until they were all in school full time. I feel so lucky to actually be able to do this. Things kind of just fell into place for us. DH got a new job, so I had to quit mine so we could relocate. Then we got our BFP. Honestly if we still lived in NY/LI there is no way we would be able to afford for me to stay home. Our situation just kind of allowed for it, so it wasn't that big of a decision.
