I say my prayers and cover every light in the room (like the alarm clock). I have to sleep in total darkness.

I'm thinking of doing this. My f#cking neighbor leaves her dog out barking all morning. (I work nights and sleep until at least 10:30AM)
Is it hard to get used to?
No, not at all. They are a life saver. I think a Minotaur lives about me and she clomps around with her hooves at all hours.

Hunt around for the remote to set the sleep timer.
DH sleeps with the TV on. I don't. It's a compromise.
Also this past year or so DH holds my hand while we're falling asleep.
