Have you REALLY thought about the labor process?
I've been taking Birthing classes with DH, and after yesterday's session, I just keep thinking "wow, I can't believe WE (women) have to go through this!" I'm not afraid of labor/pain, but I can't say that I'm looking forward to the pain at all. I wish that I could just fast forward to the point where the baby pops out, and I'm in love!

Re: Have you REALLY thought about the labor process?
It is all I think about...i want the baby here so bad, but not the labor part. I have panic attacks thinking about it. I know it will be one day of pain and in the end worth it. People do it over and over and ovr again so i use that to get through my attacks thinking if they can do it so can i.

Re: Have you REALLY thought about the labor process?
I have thought of the labor pain, where I am going to be when it starts, where DH will be, how will I get to hospital, all the pain, what if something goes wrong and I give myself anxiety then I try to talk myself out of it by thinking of all the POSITIVE Things about it and I relax a little.
  Do I sound NUTSO ??

Re: Have you REALLY thought about the labor process?
To be honest, and this probably sounds bad, but both DH and I think the whole labor process is pretty gross. I know I'm supposed to see it as "the miracle of life" but I can't help thinking of all the disgusting parts- the stuff that's going to leak from me, the stretching of my privates, the blood, etc... YUCK!!!! I just want to go to the hospital, get my epidural, push when the DR. tells me to and then have my baby. I don't like to think about the details too much.

DITTO!!!!! I have a doctor's appointment today and I'm going to make sure he knows how badly I want to try to avoid this
And ditto also on what nferrandi said!!!! The whole birthing process, as amazing as it is, totally grosses me out
ETA: a co-worker of mine just popped his head in my office to ask how much longer I have. Then he tells me that with their 2nd child, his wife was screaming her head off on the way to the hospital

I thought about it a lot! Being a regular viewer of A Baby Story definitely didn't help....
