christening question
DC will be born the end of august and i really want to have the christening before cold/flu season starts and while i'm still on maternity leave.
is it unrealistic to expect to have DC's christening at around 6/8 weeks (october)? or do i have to wait till DC has all his/her shots?

years ago they had christenings around that time period. DH and I was baptismed at 6 and 7 weeks respectively. I'd do it in October.

Our child is due to be born early July and I want to do the same as you so we are planning on doing a September/october christening!

I was born in November and christened in November so yes it can be done 
DS is due the end of March and we're going to have his Christening May 2nd. He'll be around 5-7weeks old. We want to get it done before summer because we don't want to inconvenience anyone during the nice weather.

I think that is fine! My friend just baptized her baby earlier than that and it was perfect! I want to do it before I go back to work so the baby will definitely be less than 12 weeks!

I'm due Aug.3rd and I'm planning on hopefully having a Christening Sept. 18th! I want to have it at our house because we have a huge backyard and an enclosed big porch off our kitchen, warm weather is better because I expect close to 70-90 people!!! I don't see a problem with it at all. My uncle is a priest and will baptize the baby, and he recommends always between 6 and 8 weeks!!!

Lots of ppl do t earlier and it's what I would have preferred, but it's not working out for us. I would just call the church before baby is born to get the info. They won't let you register for it until the baby is born, I called several churches to work out dates already!

If you're comfortable with it I don't see why not. I'm due in October and I'm not comfortable with doing it in the Winter so I'm hoping to do it in the Spring.

DD was born end of APril, had he christening middle of june..i tried to plan it as early as possible to her estimated due date (she came 5 days early)

We are doing it in the 6-8 week time frame too for the same reason that I want to do it before going back to work. I am due 4/22 and we will be having it 2nd weekend in June.
