What would an allergic reaction to a food look like?

Tyler started rice cereal yesterday (he had oatmeal first with no reactions)

Today I noticed little teeny bumps on his forehead (barely noticeable unless you are kissing him uncontrollably )

And, I just changed his diaper and there were red marks there (just like a diaper rash)

Could this be an allergic reaction? He has pooped more the last two days so that could be why his tush is red.

Any thoughts?

It's possible. I think there are all levels of skin reactions to food.
DS also had an issue w/ rice but none w/ oatmeal. I want to say he had some redness in his face.

here's our scenario - i gave em sweet potatoes and she likely mashed some onto her face. the next day - she had some redness.

the following day - we had an allergist appointment and i told him.

he said - that's likely 'contact dermatitis'...and he's not worried about that - boatloads of kids get it.

he said he'd be worried if she had rashes on her belly that then moved to her back, that then moved to arms & legs....THAT is a reaction to something...

what i think of your situation? maybe...but keep a VERY CLOSE eye on it and see if it starts spreading...

Christopher had an allergic reaction to bananas the first time we did them, my ped said the allergy would present on his trunk (which it did)

That being said, I think it could pop up anywhere

Also, he is NOT allergic to bananas now, my ped said to keep trying them every couple of months and by two he outgrew it

Food allergies present as a rash on the torso normally.

I believe it could be...I would call the pediatrician to be sure... Or you can wait a few days (like 4-5) ...til the rash disappears and try it again

Noah had one or two allergies to fruit, it always presented as hives around his mouth..

Hives around the mouth is common as well
