Landon is sick again - any ideas what it could be?

Started with a rash over chest and back on Friday night. Spoke to pediatrician on call who said it sounded like it could be an allergy (I agreed) and to give him benedryll. Friday night he went to bed with a slight fever which went up to 103.5 overnight! Woke up fine on Saturday, still with the rash though. This morning woke up very grumpy. I could not console him all day. We took a nap together around 12 and when we woke up at 2 he had another 101 fever. We took him to PM Pediatrics, and he threw up ALL OVER the waiting room and my DH. The dr. there said he looks great. The rash looks like an allergy or irritation because it is only on his chest and back (no diaper area) and she thinks the fever is unrelated to the rash. No answer on the vomiting. Our instructions are to give him tylenol, motrin, benedryl if he is itchy, and cortisone cream. ANy ideas on what this could be, I find it unlikely that these 3 things are all unrelated.

Rashes usually come after a fever so more than likely they are unrelated. I know you can get a fever with a stomach virus so maybe he has that or the flu. I hope he feels better!

My DS has something very similar this time last year. He had a fever and rash and they started on the same day. The dr. said the rash was either viral, kind of his bodys way of reacting to the bug he had or almost like his body was allergic to the bug he had. The rash lasted a few days longer than the fever. And he vomited the second night in his sleep....the first and only time he ever did that.
