when is a good time to concieve dc#2....
what factors do/did you consider before trying? had my dc in august dh wants to start trying now im not sure what i want to do i mean if it happens i will be happy surprised but happy will i ever be 100% sure? somedays im so over whelmed also i work and enjoy working im soooo confused

as soon as DS turned one we tried, the boys will be 20 months apart . I really wanted the kids to be close in age

DS is an early August baby (2007). I got pg with DD in late Dec 2008 when DS was 17 months old and she was born late September 2009. They are 26 months apart less one day. I think it is a perfect age difference because I am not to far away from DS being a baby and he is/was able to entertain himself when I need to focus on the baby. This was vital when she was a newborn. He also is able to help me and understands things. I think it is a great age difference.

We wanted our DC to be close in age. We started TTC#2 when DS was 8 months old and got pregnant when he was 9 months old. They will be almost exactly 18 months apart.
I know it will be very hard in the beginning because DS is still so dependent on us, but I also know that it will be worth it when they get older.

I just needed some time not being pregnant. And I wanted DD to be a little more self sufficient before going for #2. But that's just me.

honestly, its when you feel ready for it and your dh does too! our girls are about 2 and a half yrs apart...and I have to say, it is amazing! they get along great, and Sammie (older dd) is the best helper, etc. It warms my heart and for those who have seen her "in action", she is the poster child for being an amaizng big sister!

if ur confused and feeling overwhelmed i'd say you're not quite ready. enjoy your dd now and the rest will fall into place when the time is right
My DD will be 2 in May and we plan on TTC this summer , so our children will (hopefully) be 3 years apart.

Agreed.
DS was born Dec 07. It wasnt until he was 18 months that I was ready to even consider it (DH still wasnt ready) Now at 2, I see DS and I know he is ready to be a big brother. I was just never someone who wanted 2 under 2 for a few reasons.
I would start trying now, the only things blocking me, is being in a wedding in teh fall out of state, and I dont want a Dec baby because I feel like with all the family bdays we already have (DS included) and the holidays I know my kids wouldnt each get their own day just and parties would be shared which isnt fair. So we will wait a few more months.

I am trying now and my DD is 17 months old so if I get lucky and get pregnant they will basically be 2 years and 1 month apart in age.

DD and DS will be exactly 4 years apart. I wouldn't have it any other way. I really didn't want them too close together and any further apart would be too much of a gap for us. I have truly enjoyed my alone time with DD and am ready for another little one. I think this is a very personal decision.
