BTDT moms- After labor how much weight did u lose?

Asking because of a personal issue...i was told that I shouldn't gain over 20 lbs...to avoid pre-term labor

Compared to how much u gained, how much had you lost right after?

Sorry to crash, i gained 40 pounds with DD and the day i delivered i lost 17 pounds, i actually weighed myself after cause i was curious.

With DD I gained 23lbs. I was induced but it failed so I wound up have a c-section. I lost all of the weight before I left the hospital.

I gained 45 lbs. I had severe swelling and a significant amount of the weight was due to that. I ended up with a c-section. When I got home, I had lost about 15 lbs. By 1 week PP, I was down 31 lbs and the rest came off by 6-8 weeks PP. I EBF, which probably helped me lose the weight quickly.

I gained about 50lbs and I lost about 25-30 of that in the hospital. DD was 9lbs and I caught a stomach virus while in the hospital which probably accounts for about 10 pounds of my weight loss.

I gained 40 lbs, I don't remember how much I lost in the hospital but by 3 weeks PP I had lost 25 lbs. I never lost the other 15 lbs but that was my own fault I ate like crap and never exercised!

I lost about half of my weight within the first week.

I gained 18 pounds. The day I came home from the hospital, I was down 12 but really, really swollen in the legs and ankles. At 13 days pp, I was down 26 pounds and in my jeans. My weight loss has plateaued since then. I am not BF.

I gained 30 lbs and only lost about 5 by the time i left the hospital. my DD was almost 8 lbs. I was retaining a huge amount of water. By about a week-2 weeks i lost over 25 lbs though.

I gained 50 lbs with my first and I lost pretty much 25 right away!

gained 56 lbs with DC#1 and was down 22 lbs by the time I left the hospital.

I gained 50 lbs with DS. The day I left the hospital I was down 12 lbs. I was still very swollen (( I didn't know I was allergic to Motrin lol)). I stopped taking Motrin 2 days after I came home, and I dropped 18 lbs overnight. By 3PP I lost all the weight.

I gained 32lbs with DD and i'm only 6 days PP and i've already lost 20lbs

I'm surprised too, I was over weight to begin with and was told not to gain anymore than 25lbs

#1 - gained 66! lost 5 in the hospital (I was pumped with IV and antibiotics)

#2 - gained 56. lost 11 in the hospital


both c/s. lost all but 5 pounds for both pregnancies by 6 months or so.

I gained 40lbs, I actually weighed 1lb more when I left the hospital. I was given a lot of fluid and was super swollen. I am 18 days PP and I have lost 24lbs

I gained 25lbs of actual weight when I was pregnant but the last 4 weeks (for some reason.......and it wasn't eating because I had GD) I gained 40lbs of water weight!!! It was INSANE!!!! To this day nobody knew what was going on with me because my blood pressure and everything else was fine. Anyway, when I came home from the hospital I had lost nothing and then over the next 3 weeks I lost ALL of the 65lbs and was back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Thank god for night sweats after giving birth!!

I gained 14 lbs with DD#1. I weighed myself when I got home from the hospital and I didn't lose any! And my DD was 9.7lbs!! I was sooooo upset. Then after 2 weeks I had lost 15lbs and a few more weeks another 15 lbs, so total of about 30 in about 4 weeks.

with DS I gained 37 lbs and honestly lost 25 right away, like within a week

gained 4lbs with DS and the day I left the hospital, I was down 22 lbs from my 1st prenatal appt... so I lost 26lbs before even leaving the hospital.

I found this breakdown when I was pg. It's based on a 30lb average weight gain during a pg. If you take my 26lb loss and start subtracting, it's dead on!

Blood----------------------------------3 pounds
Breasts--------------------------------2 pounds
Womb---------------------------------2 pounds
Baby-----------------------------------8 pounds
Placenta-------------------------------2 pounds
Amniotic fluid-------------------------2 pounds
Fat, protein & other nutrients------7 pounds
Retained water-----------------------4 pounds

I gained 33 lbs, and the day I got home from the hospital I weighed myself and i lost 18lbs...baby was 8lb4oz.
