I never started, but if I had, I would have stopped when DD stopped sticking everything in her mouth.

I still use it occasionally and DD is almost 3. I am really sceeved out about shopping carts.
Sometimes I let her sit in the back if its not a big shopping but I wipe the cart down really well.

Don't remember exactly but I used it until she was out of the putting everything in her mouth stage.
