Destination Maternity...small vent
I understand that the people who work there probably work on comission, but do they need to stalk you while you are trying to shop?
I went to the one in Huntington today just to pick up a few items. The questions just didn't stop. I finally got so annoyed, I just bought a few things. I would have bought more if they would just leave me alone. Sooooo annoying!

I know they are so annoying at most stores. The only store I haven't been stalked at is Maternity Works at The Source.
And for me it's even worse - since I am plus size, I literally have like 3 racks of clothes to pick from HELLO - I think I can look at 3 racks by myself. I will let you know if I need anything!!

I hate that one in Huntington and will only go if I have to!! Besides stalking me, one of the ladies walked in on me TWICE while I was in the dressing room!! I yelled at her the 2nd time!
I respond so much better to them being available if I need help but giving me space, I think most people do and they would get more out of that attitude...

The one in Carle Place isn't THAT bad if you go with someone lol I have DH come with me and when I see one of them coming I talk to him and ignore their presence LOL

oh no, I can't stand stores like that. I've never been to a one of the stores, I just bought things online from them....maybe I'll just stick to online shopping!

ughh.. i can't stand stores like that.. when the store in broadway mall was open the lady wasn't that bad.. i would have walked out if she was.. cause its such a peeve of mine
it reminds me of gadgets and gizmo's.. i can never step foot in that store because of the annoyance of the employees harrassing you!!

OMG I know - - -the one by SmithHaven mall is the worst. I mean.....I feel soooo unattractive as it is, you would think thay would leave you alone to try to find something that might make u feel human ha ha ha ha ha....without following u everywhere in the store!!!

This is why I only shop Destination Maternity online.
Worth every single CENT in shipping charges....
I won't set foot in a store.
Totally not worth it.

I got frustrated with the one in Huntington as well. The same sales person would hound my every time I went in.
She'd also tell me things looked good on me, when I know they didn't. And when I'd ask her for a bigger size, she'd come back and say they didn't have any more but that the small fit just fine. Um, no...pregnancy and camel toe do not go well together!
I wound up buying so much stuff I didn't like or need because I just wanted to get out of the store and try the stuff on again at home. And then I'd have to go back right away b/c their return policy stinks.
Since I was in the area, I started shopping at Macys. Same stuff, just nicer sales person and better return policy.

OMG I completely agree. And it was ALL the salespeople not just one. Jeez. They are right on top of you the whole time. AHHHH. It did kind of make me rush through also b/c they were that annoying.

They are incredibly annoying. For that reason alone, I mess with them while I am in there. I say really out there, strange things-I made a few laugh and they got the point to back off. The worst was Pea in a Pod-I think they marked my account not to ask me about the credit card again when I told them I was aiming for DD to finish elementary school, as I don't expect much from her! (In Motherhood, I told them she was the first fetus to get a full ride to Dartmouth!)
The other strategy, mean as it sounds, but it was a last resort-have them pull everything and then tell them you don't like any of it! When I had no other option, it worked!

OMG I was in Pea in a Pod down here and I tried on a $200 dress for my shower that looked incredibly adorable on the model, but made me look like a hippo and hugged the wrong curves-they swore up and down I looked great and just to buy a 40 dollar pair of Spanx for under it-I must say, pregnancy is the one time in my image obsessed life where I don't want to be squeezed into Spanx! And I think if I am spending $200, I better look damn good-and I told them that!

I went to the one in Lake Grove a few weeks ago. One of the older women was SUPER irritating.
She was standing to the side of my fitting room helping another customer and felt the need to comment on the dress I was trying on in the fitting room WITH THE CURTAIN CLOSED! I guess there was a small opening in the curtain so she could see me. Obviously I had just been naked a few moments before so I was really irritated and thought it was totally inappropriate.
I like the Motherhood Maternity in the Bay Shore mall. The same lady is always there and she's very friendly and helpful.

I agree..at the Source they were so nice, they let me shop by myself AND they even kept all my shopping bags behind the register so I didn't need to carry them, I like this store a lot. I also go to Macys in the Walt Whitman mall for maternity clothes, they have Destination and Pea in the Pod, nobody bothers you there and you can use your Macys coupons!

The lady in lake grove was like this too, i let her pick out 20 thinkgs and just left buying what I came for...well I eneded up having a MC but thats besides the point. She told me they dont work on comission..,but I dont blv. that!!

I've only had pleasant experiences at the one in Carle Place. They aren't overly pushy at all and will leave you alone if you ask them to. I also don't remember them bothering me about a credit card the few times I've been in there.
DH loves it there, he sat in the lounge chairs while I tried on dresses and watched some basketball game with all the other husbands. Then one of the saleswomen came around and offered them all OJ or water. He keeps asking when we're going back
