snow on wednesday...
Will you guys be trekking into work if we get the predicted 5-12 inches?
I normally would, as I take the subway and it's not too bad, but at 32 weeks preggo, I don't think I'll chance it if there's more than 5 inches out there..
What do you guys plan on doing?

Re: snow on wednesday...
if we get 6+ i wont. i have to drive 45 mins in regular conditions (massapequa to oceanside) ... but with LOTS of side-streets, its dangerous. Im not risking it

Re: snow on wednesday...
I'll be going to work if there is snow, I am only 23 weeks, so I dont think I can use my pregnancy as an excuse, even though I commute at least an hour each way. I also would rather not use a sick day if I dont have to. But DH will clean off my car in the AM if it needs to be, he is good like that

Re: snow on wednesday...
if it's alot by the time I would leave I will try to work from home. My boss is in NJ and typically gets much more than me, so if they stay home then I will also.

If it is over 6 inches my building will probably be closed anyway. If its open for some reason, I won't be going in and I work ten minutes away LOL not worth risking a slip getting from the garage to the building!

Re: snow on wednesday...
Depends if my road gets plowed. Last time it snowed during that big storm, we didn't have plows for 2-3 days.

Re: snow on wednesday...
I am so scared to do this. I only live a few blocks from work but to walk, i have to cross an over pass- which is NEVER plowed over the highway :(
Not sure what to do as DH leaves at 430 for work....

that's what I'm the most worried about. Slipping! And I work in Manhattan, so it's so congested and crowded and no one cares if you fall!

I don't know honestly - I can't afford to take the time off, but DH is working (and he NEVER takes off for weather) and I don't want to travel from KP to Levittown with DS.

Re: snow on wednesday...
I do not have any sick days left thanks to the lovely stomach virus that hit everyone in my house. I will be trekking to work unless my boss decides to shut the office or have a late start, which I highly doubt. I'll just take it slow and I get here, when I get here. I have an awful commute since we have to drop DD off at my ILs.

I took off today so I don't know if I can really get away with taking off Wednesday. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that my school closes due to snow.

Re: snow on wednesday...
The LIRR will shut down system wide if it's 10+ inches. Even if it's only 5 inches I won't risk it.
I'll be 31 weeks at that point and don't want to risk anything.

If we get a lot I won't be coming in. I live in Queens and work in Manhattan...I have to walk to the subway and the sidewalks are never shoveled when I leave.

I'm probably going to go to work. I work less thank 10 minutes from home so it really would be a waste of a sick day for me to stay home.

Re: snow on wednesday...
I am 38 weeks and i also have a docotrs appointment that day all the way in East Setauket. I work all the way in Levittown and I dont think i will risk it. Iam even hoping my dr. will have an earlier opening cause iam sure people will cancel. Not looking foward to it. But If the school district closes that would be awesome and I won't have to worry.
