Infant cough (help)

Hey ladies!

Joey is 4 months. She woke up this morning with a cough. I don't know if I should just wait and see or if I should just go the the Pediatrician.

She only hacks a couple of times, and then seems fine, but it sounds wet. She is sleeping more than normal, but no fever, eating fine. She is up to date on her vaccines.

I guess I am just nervous since this is her first cough. I don't know when it's serious or not. I don't want to wait it out if it's serious, but she really seems fine to me.

So I guess am I asking is it okay to wait and see? or is coughing this young something to get checked out immediately?

and besides steam, and humidifier is there anything else I can do to help relieve it?

I would see how she is in the morning, if her chest sounds like it's wet and rumbling I would call your ped.

Bring her in the bathroom with you and run the hot water. Do this for about ten minutes, and then also a cool mist humidifier overnight.
