How old was DC when you lowered the crib mattress for the first time?
DD is 5 1/2 months old and last night she was grabbling onto the bumber to pull herself up a little to look over the rail at me. I am assuming now would be a good time to lower the mattress- right?

i would think better safe than sorry, and I cant see any HARM in lowering it!
maybe on your back, that's about it!

I was thinking the same thing this morning! DD doesn't pull herself up yet but she rolls so much and gets up on her elbows and can almost look over the side! I think we'll lower it this weekend.

14 months old. She never sat up or stood up in her crib so we waited a while.

I did it at 5.5 months because my friend who had a baby (same age) said they learned by experience and kinda warned me...the earlier the better.

I don't remember - 5 months maybe?
I know it was before he actually pulled himself up - but when he started showing signs he was trying to -
I'd do it now .......

I think at 6 months, when he was starting to pull himself up--it was actually before he started to sit up.
We lowered it all the way down at that point at the suggestion of our pediatrician. It wasn't so long before he was standing up all the way, and we needed to lower it again.

I don't remember how old DS #1 was but with DS #2, he's 9 mos and we're lowering it this weekend.
