Stroller for city moms who drive

I'm not sure what to get - I'm not totally suburban or citified- I live in Brooklyn, I drive, but I also plan to walk alot once the weather gets nicer. I may take DD on subway too. Which stroller is great for walking, but also easy and light enough to store in the car?

My city friend got a Maclaren - she had a Bugaboo but she said it was a pain - it took up her whole trunk and it was heavy to lift.

100% agree with this. I loved the Bugaboo for when we were walking around the city but when we had to go anywhere with any form of transportation (car, plane, subway etc.) we used our Maclaren. In hindsight, I probably would have gotten a CityMini and then seen whether I needed a Maclaren too.

I'm in Brooklyn too and as of right now, since DD is still in the infant carseat, the snap 'n go has been my favorite to run errands in since it's so lightweight and manageable. I also have the Chicco Cortina stroller which I LOVE for walks in the neighborhood but it is very bulky and takes up a lot of trunk space. When DD gets a little older, I definitely am considering a Maclaren.

I have the City Mini with the car seat adapter so it is the only stroller I use. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver on city streets. It also folds easily to pop into a trunk or walk up and down subway stairs. I love it!

Re: Stroller for city moms who drive

I live in Hoboken and it's the same thing for me-- there are weeks that I never get in the car, but I obviously need something that can work well with collapsing, etc.

I have the Bugaboo and I love it. I really feel like I need it for walking around town. I had the car seat adapter, and I would take the base with me when I drove anywhere. It was big, but honestly-- it wasn't that big of a deal.

Sicne I just switched out the car seat, I use the Maclaren Quest instead of bringing the Bug because the base with the seat would be a major PITA to put in the car. I am happy with that too-- but I really only strolled in malls and stores with that one. But I like how it maneuvers, etv.c.

I have the Peg Perego Switch and I really like it. Great for walking, navigating thru crowds, doesn't take up my entire trunk and can be reversed to face in or out.

I agree with the pp...I think the bug is cumbersome, but great for long walks..I have the city mini as well as the Maclaren Techno, both easy and lightweight...I prefer the city mini over the Maclaren

This was us. The Bugaboo was great for walking but somewhat of a PITA for the car. When we drive we use our Quest which is great for smooth sidewalks, mall etc but not so great for walking
