aaarrgggh
sorry, just had to vent
Saw a vendor today who i haven't seen in a few years - one of the first things he said to me was "what, no kids yet? you guys have been married for a few years so why don't you have them? pretty soon you're going to be old and gray" (thanks jerk)
I just stood there and stammered.
All the defiant responses i've had in my head for situations like these just went away and i didn't know what to say.
I mumbled something about 'not yet' blah blah blah
but wow, did that bring me down a notch and make me feel horrible

See.. comments like that are usually what roll right off my tongue naturally. But when faced with the situation and caught completely off guard, i just failed. It's easier to look back and think what i should've said.. but i know that i'm in the work place and i can't say what i would've wanted to anyway

That happens to me too. I hate when they catch me off-guard.
