STTN... Does your baby STTN without a peep?

So DS is STTN Chat Icon and is almost 7 months. But he wakes up 2-3 times a night, talks to himself for 5-15 mins, giggles a bit, then goes back to sleep. I'm not complaining; it's not like I have to do CIO for talking, and plus it's really cute even though it wakes me up.

Do other babies do this, or do they sleep the whole night without a peep?

My older DD slept without a peep. Erin is a very restless sleeper! On nights that she does STTN (which is not every night) she often wakes up, is kicking her legs and fidgeting, sometimes giggling and then goes back to sleep.

Once in a while I hear DS moan or gabble for a minute once or twice during the night.

KJ makes some noises throughout the night, he will whine for a few minutes here and there throughout the night

Re: STTN... Does your baby STTN without a peep?

YES! Mason does the same exact thing. Hasn't been doing it every night, but just at around 7 months (he'll be 8 months next week) he was getting up, laughing, talking to himself (da da da da da) then goes to sleep. Since he's learning to crawl he'll practice in the crib too.
He was doing it every night for a while. Now he does it maybe twice a week and not too long.

Re: STTN... Does your baby STTN without a peep?

DD is only 4 months, she STTN but talks, cries, and moves around in the crib like crazy all night long. Either DH or I would get up and go in her room to give her a paci and by the time we would get there she would be out cold again. We actually love watching her do all this on the video monitor (not at 3am though) Chat Icon

DD is 6 months and we never hear a thing from her until about 5-6am when she whines for about 2 minutes and then falls back. She wakes up for good around 7.

Re: STTN... Does your baby STTN without a peep?

For the most part, yes.

When she hits a new milestone, sometimes she'll wake up, babble a bit, clap her hands, but will go back to sleep.

Re: STTN... Does your baby STTN without a peep?

My kids went through this about 9-10 months. It does pass. Since they were about 12 mos they sleep through the night pretty much without a peep....though they are getting molars so now will wake up occasionally and cry

Re: STTN... Does your baby STTN without a peep?

Tommy will usually STTN very quietly HOWEVER we do have the occasional night where he will wake up at 2 or 3 am and be playing, giggling, kicking the crib rails etc...I just turn on the video monitor to see what's going on and then he usually goes back to sleep.

Kaydyn still wakes up usually once or twice in the middle of the night. Sometimes she will cry for a couple of seconds and calm down, sometimes she will wake up and talk to her animals, also she moves around ALOT.

She's always been a restless sleeper though.

DS is always around 5AM too, and sometimes 3AM! Too funny!

No peeper here. In fact, she sleeps sooooooooo soundly and deeply that she usually wakes up with a dry diaper Chat Icon

Awww poor Riley! Maybe more teething? Chat Icon I think when Will cries in his sleep he's in pain, which makes me so sad. Or he has a nightmare, which also makes me sad.

I have the same thing going on here--literally slept through the night since the first night and now up a bunch of times--granted she was sick and has two teeth coming in- Thankfully the last two nights were pretty quiet--hope she keeps it up :)

It depends. Sometimes DS wakes up during the night and makes a noise and sometimes he doesn't.

Re: STTN... Does your baby STTN without a peep?

DS is only almost 10 weeks old but does STTN but at 3am like clockwork on most nights (last night he did not) he fusses or groans, I end up putting the paci back in, stroke his face and then he's out like a light. He does groan throughout the night b/c he's a gassy little thing and needs to get it out but I never have to tend to him when he does that just at 3am when he actually fusses a little.
