Belly Button Piercing
I think all tattoo places should be required to post pics of what a pregnant belly will look like with a hole from an old belly button piercing. That would deter most people from getting them.
SOOOOO gross.
On a related note, my dr told me that some people keep piercings "down there" even when they are giving birth. Ouch.

I just asked my doctor about that because I'm still debating on whether or not to take it out.. she said that you don't have to but I'm thinking I will anyway.. I got it at 18 yrs old and now at 33 i think Its time I let it go...

Same here. Not only is my belly button stretched from my DD's pregnancy but I have the lovely stretch mark and the two holes from the piercing right above it. It's definitely not the same as it was before!

i took mine out as soon as the belly started to grow. the whole is very big, along with every freckle on my belly- looks so weird!

I'm crashing.  I would take it out. In our birthing class a dr. came in and talked about this, he said to take it out in case you need an emergency c-section. They need to sterilize your belly and a belly ring can't be sterilized so they will have to waste more time to cut it off!

i just took mine out the other day and i order 2 "maternity" posts in a flexible plastic to use as a retainer and to hide the "hole" for as long as I can

That's so weird... my belly button piercing looks totally normal, even now at 33.5 weeks, and it never stretched out at all. I have a maternity post in there (it's a flexible plastic-like material) and I'll put my regular one back in as soon as I give birth.

A friend of mine carried really small & kept her ring in for both of her pregnancies with no stretching or infections or anything but I had to take mine out at 20 weeks. Mine wasn't stretching but I didn't like how it looked like an outie belly button whenever I wore fitted shirts. I guess it depends on how you are carrying/ preg weight gain.

yeah...at 18...i didnt know to think about being preggo + the piercing.
i took mine out a week or so after finding out about BFP...my hole closed but there is still a dot there. at abouw 28w...so far mine hasnt stretched. im hoping if it does it returns to just being a dot afterwards (im not going to put my piercing back in).
each person is different though. i heard ppl say their holes never closed.
btw i heard mederma helps but i havent tried it yet.
