Do you ever feel left out
My bil is here visiting us for a couple of days. While I have NO problem with my dh going out with him and my other bil and sil, I feel left out-- My dh and bil went to meet up with my other bil and then afterwards they are meeting up with my sil and her bf. I am home, folding laundry as we have 2 kids. I LOVE my kids dearly but times like this I remember how much easier it was just to come and go as you pleased and that won't happen again for a long time.

Yes, I do. Even when DH is home with me and all of our friends are out having an awesome time- I wish we could be there, too.

Re: Do you ever feel left out
yes, as I'm home alone tonight. DH & I loved going to hockey games whenever we could get tickets....he's there tonight and I'm home by myself with the little one whereas normally we both would've just gone...........& I hate reading my friends FB statuses lol
although I will say.....DS is asleep for the night, I have a glass of wine, a movie on and the couch to myself, I'm enjoying it! PLUS I had a great day with him, my sister & nephew, so I try to look at the good stuff too

Re: Do you ever feel left out
My kids are not young either and I have been a mother for 11 yrs but it is times like this that I miss that spontaneity and knowing you can just go out, as long and late as you want and not have anthing to worry about (that night AND the next morning-lol!!). Even with a babysitter, you don't want to be too late and the kids get you up early in the morning.

yes!!
dh is heading out skiing. I feel like no matter how hard I try, our skiing together days are done. This is the year Josh would have went to ski school...and maybe I would have went out then, but now pregnant.

Yeah...I will freely admit that I do miss my life BEFORE having Ryleigh. I don't want it to seem like I'm sorry I became a mom, because that's NOT the case at all...but things were much simpler then. We could come and go as we wanted, not having to worry about nap times, whether I have a paci in the bag, etc. etc.
I just try to remind myself that there WILL come a day when the kids are older that we'll have some of our freedom back again.

I am glad I am not the only one as I mainly hear from moms that do not miss their old life.

Re: Do you ever feel left out
Sometimes. DH and his friends meet occasionally at a bar to watch UFC. Sometimes the wives and girlfriends go but I can't because I am home with the two kids. DH usually wants to stay home with me on those nights but I push him to go because he works hard for us and he deserves a night out too. If I can go, I go.

This is how I feel as well. I feel like some of my friends, who don't have kids just don't bother asking us to do things anymore because we have the baby and it's not that easy for us to just go, it almost hurts sometimes because you feel left out, but I honestly there is no where else i would rather be than with my Reilly life is just different and I know it's for the better!
