If it was a meth lab...he wasn't selling it or he would have been able to pay the rent
But I do think he had a drug problem...meth is huge in az and in 2 years you could go from normal to complete addict
He did have good credit and a good job- he could have bought a 4 bed house there on his income but he couldn't pay rent...first thing that came to my mind....drugs
The candels would be used to cook a personal supply....find any bent spoons?
He always paid in money orders.
the maintenance guys said young guys would come and go all the time.
He was using his profits.

ITA-or he was selling it and so f'ed up he was smoking all his profits. I went to school in AZ from 94-99 and the problem was bad even then...Good luck with everything

I'm filing a police report today. It will help my civil case at least. I will file a criminal case too.

What about your parents neighbors? When they left AZ were they on good terms with the them? Can you speak to them to find out if they know or suspected anything?

The complex has gotten very transient. The same neighbors are not there anymore. Our contact there has asked around and gotten limited info.
He kept to himself. He was a paranoid MF.

Yeah, for a reason! I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this.
I don't know what I'm going to do if I have to tear down walls there. I'm scared about what they will find.

We filed the civil suit and the police report was filed for criminal damage.

All I have to say is WOW!!  and  . As a person renting out there property myself you have every right to go off on this dude royally. I followed your story with him and this is beyond disgusting. We been renting out our home FL for a year using a property management co and our last tenant left abruptly but had the carpets and house cleaned before leaving which is what your supposed to do. I can't believe that this guy had the balls just to leave and leave this nightmare for you. Glad to hear you are getting things rolling with filing suit. Keep us posted but I agree with some PP's you should let Judge Judy touch this. She would rip him to shreds.
