Is Dora meant for girls?

Not that it really matters. It's just that Christopher loves Dora so much that I was thinking of having a Dora birthday party for him. Unfortunately, all the Dora party supplies are geared towards girls. I'm guessing Go Diego Go! is meant for boys and Dora is meant for girls?

No, I don't think so... but I noticed that there were no party supplies for Diego... I think because he's newer. You can do a Dora-theme party for boys too... I did one for Madeleine and was worried because she only has 1 girlfriend and the rest were boys... If you want some pictures I can post them...

I figured. Like I said, it doesn't matter. He could watch something with faeries and princesses and unicorns for all I care, as long as he's happy Chat Icon

I still have a little over 3 months to plan. Even if they had Diego, I don't think I'd get it, because he's not interested in that show for some reason. I'll see if he continues liking it and if he does, it's a Dora party for him! Thanks Chat Icon

Re: Is Dora meant for girls?

Dora is awesome, whether boys or girls !!
My son LOVES Dora, he stole his cousin's Dora doll Chat Icon and every time we go to the stores we search high and low for a BOYS clothing item with her on it Chat Icon although I have no problem with him having a doll or any Dora toys, I think its a bit much if I bought him a nightgown or pink outfit Chat Icon But Im really bummed that there is nothing out there geared for boys with Dora. MY son couldnt care less about Diego Chat Icon
the past few weeks Dora dwindled over here though, otherwise I was going to get an iron-on and make him a t-shirt.

I say go for it, whatever makes them happy!Chat Icon

Thanks for posting that! I just don't get it. I watch the show and see absolutely no reason why it can't be a unisex show. Chat Icon

I would say it is a unisex show, both my boys love it. its so interactive, interesting, easy to understand, how they speak slowly and clearly and ask questions, give them time to answer, etc. I just wish the clothing were more unisex Chat Icon It annoys me when we go to the stores and he screams if he sees a Dora nightgown or pink frilly outfit Chat Icon so I make him hold it through the whole shopping journey (peace of mind for mommy Chat Icon ) but feel really bad that theres no blue shirts with Dora! Theres so many GIRL things with sponge bob, whats the deal ? Hey maybe I can start a good side business! Chat Icon

if you do a Dora bday party, I say try to find an iron on and make him a Dora t-shirt.
my son loves the doll and has several dora toys.

That's more what I was trying to say; the products they sell based on the show should be unisex. You're right about spongebob, that's definitely unisex! Thanks for the tip, I think I'll do that for his birthday! Chat Icon
